Hi, reboot in Safe mode and try installing the antivirus if possible.
You can do this by hitting F8 while booting and selecting Safe Mode.

    You can also try this.
    In normal mode.
    goto Start> run

    type "msconfig"

goto startup and disable all unknown programs listed. The virus might be listed in it...

Then restart the computer and try installing the AVG anti virus...

if this doenst work, go for safe mode.

    cheers,

Try to down load AVG virus program and it is

It's usually indicative that you either already have an antivirus program installed (anti virus software treats other anti virus software as a virus) or you have a virus. Here are several links. The first is for the free version of AVG 9.0
This link if for a free online anti virus program by Trend Micro Systems called Housecall
I'd recommend a full anti virus scan on Housecall. After which you could either choose to continue to check on a regular basis or for realtime protection, download and install AVG 9.0.
I hope this answers your question. All the Best!

How to stop Security screens from popping up on my desktop

You have the Conflicker virus,
You will need to update your virus software and scan for virus.
If you don't have virus protection try AVG free, it should clean it up. you may also want to run Malwarebytes software.

I purchased the AVG Anti-virus & anti- spyware cd

Installing AVG might not be able to solve your spyware problem.

You could try downloading free mbam:

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/malwarebytes/mbam-setup.exe

Double-click and install it. Then run it. Click the Scan button, It will detect and remove the Spyware Guard 2008

After clicking on OK button for scan is complete, you need to click the Remove Selected button when the malwares are listed.

Let the computer reboot if mbam needs that.
Then try installing AVG.

Just in case, you could also try booting from the AVG CD. If it's bootable, it will be able to scan your computer without the need to boot in to windows. Try it too.

ok first off you need to download an anti virus program, such as avg

second you need a good firewall to stop attacks and kill these viruses from accessing their destination over the internet i suggest zone alarm for this

If your computer has security problems is this because you do not have any Anti virus or anti spyware software on your system?. I would recommend you buy some like webroot spysweeper or Trend Micro Anti virus . If you want to get a free one AVG is really good too you get it from www.google.com and type in FREE AVG and it should go to the avg section of their webiste.
