Try right-clicking on your desktop while tv is plugged in and select screen resolution, that should open the properties window that will allow you to activate or change resolutions for the tv or detect it. Make sure that the tv is enabled and if necessary choose to extend your desktop to it.

The 14.1" inch screen is compatible with Latitude models D500, D505, D510, D600, D610 and Inspiron models 500m, 510m, 600m.
You may also need a screen inverter - in fact that is often the reason a screen is considered to be failing. The lcd inverter can be one of the most common items to become defective in a laptop computer. You may need a lcd inverter replacement if your screen is dim, dark, colored oddly, blinking, flickering or has dark stripes. Just something to keep in mind.
Hope this helps,
hook another set of ext speakers to it. if no sound, its your audio bd not the speakers. hook ur dell speakers up to something else as well for verification.
We also have a 32" LCD Dell flat screen tv #W3201C that has no sound. It's about 2/12 yrs old. One speaker started having a problem and we disconnected it. That was a couple weeks ago, now there is no sound at all. Dell should not be let off the hook so easily. Obviously there is a problem with the tv and it should be Dell's responsibility to make it right. Does anyone know if a class action suit has been initiated?
