After I turn the ps3 off, the green light above the usb connections stays on. I dont recall this ever being this way. Is it going to get worser or is it ok to leave it as it is. Does anyone have this problem? or had this kind of experience? contact my email [email protected]

Go to youtube and look up how to manually take out a stuck cd. After the cd is out, the system should work fine again.

Ok, if it is simply the image that is freezing and it is still staying on then there is hope for the PS3.
If however it is turning off with 3 beeps and flashing the red light then that is serious.

Please try the following if it is just the display freezing :

Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)

Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, beep again 5 seconds later and then beep one more time and turn off into standby mode (red light on)

Release the power button

Press and hold the power button again. It will beep when you first press it, beep again 5 seconds later and this time there will be 2 quick beeps together. Release the power button when you hear these 2 quick beeps.

The PS3 will start up asking you to connect the controller via USB and press the PS button. Do this and then continue.

After doing the above a menu will load with 6 options. Choose option 3 "Restore File System". This will re-install the PS3 software if it has become corrupt. Ignore any messages about corrupt hard drive, this is normal. If this step does not work try the above again but select option 4, then 5 if that doesn't work.

One of these options should get your PS3 up and running again.

You can also try the steps below. Its from PlayStation Forum:

1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold the power button down; the system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via USB and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.

The current Recovery Menu supports:
• Restart System: Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.
• Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.
• Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
• Rebuild Database: Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.
• Restore PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
• System Update: Update the PLAYSTATION®3 System

If the above steps still does not solve the problem, then I think will have to update your Ps3.

Update your PS3 (in the settings menu the 1st option).

Go on the internet browser on the PS3 then go on the menu press triangle then on one of them there are delete cookies and the delete the others as well as cookies.

This might put the PS3 on order.

i have the same problem but now it doesnt even get to the sny entertainment part itjust freezes

press btton 2 times and keep fan near it over night

i just got my new sony dualshock 3 controller (Japanese white version, i dont know if that matters) and when i try to connerct it without a USB the 4 lights will just flash and evenually just stop as if there was no ps3 there. If i connect it with a USB it will look as if it has connected, the ps3 will think it has but there is no input form the controller and instead of the first light going on the first and the second will go on. if anyone can give me any sort of help that would be great.

if it wont load your icons and freezes before your xmb, put it into safemode and try restoring the filing system. to get it into safemode...

insetad of restoring the filing system, restore the default settings ore restart the system

Red light goes green then goes to yellow then does not start

now then or you hav to do is plug it to your pc go to internet connection t mobile properties then advanced allow to share to other connections then plug your cable to your pc from your ps3 you might have to turn your windows firewall off or just change the settings if you dont want 2 turn it off
