Stumbleupon is messing up my bookmarks

Allright, I have the Stumbleupon toolbar installed on FF3 but even though i specifically did not check the box in the Tools option that says "Save favorites to a Firefox bookmark folder" it still does, and when I want to delete that Stumbleupon bookmark folder, FF3 shuts down.

Can someone please help? Thanks

exactly the same, cant be deleted easily..

I have the problem as well. I really don't need Stumbleupon clogging up my bookmarks folder with all my thumbed-up pages, but I can't delete the folder either. FF3 just hangs and when I try to shut the bookmarks window, FF3 crashes. I think there may be a conflict with Foxmarks, so I'll disable it and see what happens.

My suspect is firefox3 is conflicting with one of your ff add-ons, or stumbleupon is conflicting with one of your firefox 3 add-ons.

isolate the problem, one by one disable the add-on and try what you can't do before, see if it works.

Refresh is not on tool bar

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible.
  • Firefox menu button > Options
  • View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
  • Right-click empty toolbar area
Use Toolbar Layout (Customize) to open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.
  • check that "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette into the Customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • if missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar setup

I have too many tool bars on my screen , How do I delete the ones I do not need

Usually happens when one installs a program, application, etc.

You're in the middle of installing, and they want to sneak an anti-virus program in, ( trial offer), or Google toolbar, or Ask.com toolbar, or whatever the 'new flavor of the month is'.

A) Add/Remove Programs:
1) Click on Start (Or Windows logo button), then on Control Panel.
2) Click on Add/Remove Programs.

3) Look down the list, when Add/Remove Programs is fully loaded.
See any toolbar names there?

Probably will not state toolbar with the name, but if you see Ask, Google, etc; that does not look like a program you installed; click on Remove.
(DO NOT remove any Windows programs)

B) Reinstall your internet browser
Have Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc?

Download again, and reinstall.
WATCH that you just save your bookmarks, and do not save the toolbars again.

[It will ask if you wish to save your Bookmarks/Favorites, etc.
Yes to that. No to anything else ]

joecoolvette

[ I had the Ask.com toolbar, slip in on me the other day! Sheesh!
Deleted that baby fast!
I use Mozilla Firefox. Don't need no cr@p.

When you are installing, look through each small screen.
If you see an advertisement; Ask.com toolbar, Google toolbar, McAfee, etc;
there will be a small square to the left of it, and a Green checkmark in the box.

There also may be two boxes.
Go to the small box on top with the first listing, left-click on the box.
This removes the green checkmark from that box.
Also from the small box below it.

Now click on Next

KEEP a sharp eye on every small window. May have to uncheck a box on a few windows. You can back up to the beginning, and look again. Be SURE before you click on Install.
Usually starts out with McAfee. {Yuck! ]

How do I add a website to the toolbar on a google chrome book

Bookmarks are added via the star icon at the right end of the address text box. You get a popup that has a Name text box - give it any name you want and a Folder combo box. Use the down symbol at the right hand end of the combo box to show the possible selections. You want to select "Bookmarks Toolbar". If you have too many of these they are accessed by the double chevrons at the end of the toolbar. You can select a link there or on the toolbar and drag it elsewhere.

So on Christmas eve you can put NORAD tracks Santa on the visible tool bar and after the Bowl Games you tuck it away in the list for next year.

With the new IE8 and the newest version of yahoo toolbar IM un-able to save new pages to bookmarks. when i try to save a new page my computer freezes/locks and I must shut the computer down to closes tabs....

There must be a bug in their new toolbar...  until they fix the bug, try delicious bookmarks, an free online bookmarking service that stores and protects your bookmarks online so you can access and organize them from any computer (and it has a toolbar):

Stumbleupon toolbar and website not working

I had the same problem in both Firefox and Internet Explorer. I discovered that the problem was caused by my Kaspersky Internet Security software.

Specifically, in the Content Filtering section I disabled the Banner Ad Blocker and the problem disappeared.

Bookmark/Save a pdf document

You may need Quarkto achieve this, I print them from QuarkXpress v4.1 using "PrintToPDF". This works like a printer driver but it converts any blue, underlined Courier text to a hyperlink (e.g. http://www.The-Cool-Book-Shop.co.uk ) and it creates a "bookmark" link for any text which is set in a specific typeface (e.g. Helvetica 14pt bold) and secondary "bookmark" from any text set in another typeface (e.g. Verdana 12pt). So all I have to do is ensure that my required links are in the correct typeface then select "PrintToPDF" in the "Chooser" and the job is done!
