Question about Refrigerators
I was hoping to find an official Whirlpool site to send my complaint to.
I have a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model ED20PKXWW00 that is 7 years old. I noticed some brown spots on the outside of the doors. Tried to clean it with household cleaner, but the spots wouldn't come off. That was about 6 months ago. Now both doors are rusting from the inside out and it's to the point that it is really noticeable. Surely the paint on a refrigerator should last longer than 7 years. I only ever cleaned it with Windex, 409, or just wiped it with the dish rag when doing dishes. My first refrigerator lasted 26 years and still didn't break or rust. We just needed a bigger one.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

its what we in the business call "refrigerator cancer" they are rusting form the inside out. there is not repairing them and not worth the cost of replacing, you can take them off and spray them you might get a little time outta them. reason it happens is the insulation used years ago was fiberglass and would trap moisture between door and liner, eventually rusting through.. new refrigs are insulated with blown in poly-styrene. they don't hold moisture.

oowwwww!!! thats what we call in the refrig biz "refrig cancer" the door itself is actually rusting from the inside out. the older refrigs used fiberglass insulation inside the doors which has a tendency to hold moisture, and overthe years rusts through. the new door use blown-in poly styrene foam far less likey to hold moisture. That being said you could remove the door lightly sand and paint, can of krylon enamal aint should do it, at least for a little while anyway
