Position fault is normally a problem with either the formatting or the printer is not calibrated correctly.
Hold the feed button down until at least 3 labels pass by the sensor.
Also check to see the sensor is directly over the die cut on the label if more than 1 up label

I am using Bartender software and a I4208 printer. It won't print on the first 1/10th inch of a 1inch x 4inch label. It also won't present after printing. Any help would be great. This printer is set up as...

In Seagull driver/Bartender software, Present Distance may be called Tear Off and can be adjusted after checking Post-Print actions in Document Properties, Stock tab. Standard setting is 0.40 inches.
On the same tab, right below that, is "Top Offset", and that adjustment may get you the lower Start of Print you want. Ok to try negative number here.

Getting a position fault error. Calibrated machine says faulty sensor.

have you monitoerd the values which are given by your sensor?
Have you checked that you have selected the right type of detection before calibrating?
Gap or black mark?
Have you checked that the sensor is correctly positionned?

Hello, i have a datamax i class he give a fault "top of form fault" i don't no what that is

The error is indicating that it cannot calibrate the media. Try holding in the feed key for approx 10 seconds and see if it will calibrate. Experiment with the position of the media sensor. It will slide horizontally.

Hi we are using the Datamax Mclass printerwhen we switch on the printer it comes with error on the display screen as out of stock and position fault. could any one please help?

Check to see if you are using the right settings for your paper stock - could be a mark or a gap - this is in your printer settings.

Always check your paper sensor to make sure it is in the right position to see your paper stock.

Calibrate the printer - hold down the FEED button (should have printable stock loaded) and wait till the printer cycles 8-10 times. Will say "Calibration Complete".

If it says "Can not calibrate" then you probably need to check your paper sensor position again.

Hope this helps.

We use the Datamax Printer to print labels with labelview. The printer itself however keeps saying :position fault" how do I fix that?

Position fault or Out of stock when the printer is loaded with paper stock can usually be solved by calibrating the printer.

Press & hold the FEED button. Let the printer cycle 8-10 times. Should feed to the right position and say Calibration Complete in the window.

Hope this solves your problem.

Position fault

Position Fault is common on Datamax printers with the LCD Display. Press "FEED" one time and this should clear it out. If not, "PRESS AND HOLD FEED" for about 5 seconds and release. This is called a Quick Calibration. Make sure the label sensor is in the correct position as well.

Position fault error

The Datamax I4308 returns a position fault error if it cannot sense the label gap where its supposed to be, or if the sensor returns a value outside the permitted range. Re-calibrate to correct the error.

Datamax i - 4208

If you use ms-access you must have installed the windows driver, therefore you must enable the cutter in the printer properties. Position fault is that it does not detect the label, must be press the FEED key or to calibrate, press the FEED key for 5 seconds to calibrate the sensor label.
