Check the blue paper size set dials in each paper cassette. They must be set to the correct paper size of paper loaded in that cassette.

HP Inkjet Printers - Fixing Paper Path Issues: Paper Jam, Carriage Jam, and...

For a printer to work, the paper has to move through the printer. The route that paper follows through the printer is called the paper path. If the paper doesn't pick up (no pick) or something interferes with the paper path, nothing prints. If the paper is stuck in the path, you have a paper jam. Sometimes jammed paper in the printer can lead to the device that carries your ink cartridges back and forth in your printer to get stuck (carriage jam) as well. Sometimes the carriage can stop moving for other reasons.

The videos in the following playlists were created to help resolve these paper path issues. These videos are not short or entertaining but they are complete. They repeat steps (test print) so even novice users can follow these without having to refer back to instructions earlier in the video. The solutions in these videos are what works to solve paper path issues most of the time. Follow the steps completely. Sometimes people shortcut some of the solutions. Avoid shortcuts for accurate troubleshooting.

The steps for resolving paper path issues are specific to your printer. These playlists have videos for about many different models. We will continue adding to the collection or updating the videos when we find new ways to resolve these issues. The title and description of the videos explain what models the videos apply to.

Some of the videos end with a step that explains that the printer needs to be serviced. If your printer is still in warranty and you get to that step, contact HP for help. If your printer is out of warranty, open a new post in this forum and see if others have a non-conventional solution that will help. Also, Google is your friend offering non-HP out of warranty solutions for servicing/fixing a broken printer.

How to clear a fake paper jam in oki B6250 printer

The usual cause of "fake" paper jams is a prior "real" paper jam. One of two things occurs.

  1. A small bit of paper tears off the jammed stock and hides from view, but keeps the printer jammed. These can be hard to find and remove, depending upon where they are.
  2. In the process of yanking the jammed paper out of the unit, the sensor(s) become damaged or misaligned and give false jam indications. This usually needs repair or replacement.

IR2230 jamming after the fuser. any suggestions?

Hello, if the paper jams in the fuser you first must check the separation fingers. If the paper comes out of the fuser unit and gets jamed you must check the delivery rollers to be clean and the sprokets to be in good working condition.
Let me know what you find.

False Paper Jam

Hello,

My name is Vikram Kumar Thumu, from India-Hyderabad. I have seen your message on the issue related to Paper Jam error messages even though there is no paper jam in printer . I would like to provide my suggestions on the issue. I hope that this should work for you and will resolve the issue.

This issue could happen if there is an issue with any small paper jam in the Printer, or due to the communicational issue .

To isolate the issue, I recommend you to perform below steps.

Steps are:

--------------

1. Power OFF printer and then please Disconnect the Printer from Computer and then disconnect the Power cable of Printer from wall outlet.

2. Check thoroughly in Printer that there is no small piece of paper in the Printer.

3. Let the Printer be disconnected and idle for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile please perform further steps on Computer.

Note: The below steps are applicable if you are using WINDOWS 2000/XP/VIsta Operating system in  your PC

  Steps are:

--------------------

Perform the below steps to restart the print spooler :

1. Click Start>Run

2. Type services.msc

3. Click OK

4. A Window will pop up with so many services listed.

5. Scroll down to locate "print spooler" in the list, right click on it and click "Restart"

6. Restart the Computer.

Once if you are done with steps, please connect the Printer and then Power ON Printer and check the issue.

This should resolve the issue for you.

If you need any further assistance on the issue, you can mail me at thumuvikram@rediffmail.com . I'll be glad to help you.

Bye.
