I have the same model blower and essentially the same problem. It worked fine then the next time that I tried to use it she just wouldn't start. I changed the spark plug and It has a good strong fire at the plug. It has plenty of gas but still wont start. I used starting fluid directly into the cylinder and still no start. I removed the fly wheel to check sheer pin and all was good. The blower is still disassembled and I am needing some professional guidance. I suspect the ignition module is not firing in the correct sequence but since there is a strong spark at the plug I am not sure about the module.

My BVM 200 was running great till I went to start it again. Spark and gas but no go.....I think the compression is gone.

Unit just quit running. Worked fine for about 10 min. Checked plug

and it is dry. Can not get any fuel by pushing the primer. When you

push the primer is forces the fuel back to the gas tank.

Fired up my Pouland blower for the first time last weekend, fresh gas... no go. It actually fired for about 2 seconds, and then quit... I was never able to restart it. The spark plug is cool to the touch, so I'm wondering if this suggests something wrong with the ignition sequence?

I replaced the fuel line hose in my BVM 200 since it became brittle. Since I put it back together the carburator isnt getting fuel and the spark plug is dry. The primer bulb when pressed stays down and will not pop up again unless you wait like 5 minutes. Any solutions?

As a service center for Poulan products the usual problems for not starting I see is compression or the cylinder has come loose from the crankcase. Compression needs to be 115 psi minimum. If you remove the plastic muffler cover you can see the cylinder-crankcase joint. Wiggle the spark plug to look for any movement at that joint. If there is any movement the cylinder screws are loose.

Poulan has an excellent 2 year warranty and any service center should be happy to repair it under warranty for any problem.

Apparently the carburettor gets clogged if you don't run it dry before putting it away for a while. You need to take it off and clean it and probably need to renew rubber diaphragms.

What type of oil does the poulan pro BVM 200 EL use and is the gas:oil ratio 40:1?

use - husqvarna , sthil brands high quality 2 stroke oil

as directed on bottle 50:1 that is 20 mils of oil for every 1.0 litre of petrol that you use

if you want 2 litres mix put in 40 mils of oil into petrol container
then put in 2 litres of petrol only and give good shake and fill the blower

cheers

My Poulan Pro 200 model #200pbv200le will not start.Replaced the carb, fuel, fuel filter, plug. When I pull the cord sometimes I see a spark, sometimes- most of the time I don't see a spark.Replaced fuel

Check your compression...if it reads anything less than 100psi you need to tear it down and replace the piston ring. Looking for the spark is unreliable, get an in-line spark checker and check for spark. Loss of compression due to a stuck piston ring is very common in the pbv200 series.

I have a poulan pro bvm200 leaf blower, was running and then it stopped and have not been able to start it. I took all the parts off and all are clean. Throttle is clean, push button for fuel is working....

the bvm 200 model has a 25cc piston and ring the rings are infamous for getting clogged and baked into theyre seat, this creates a compwesion problem and it will not start, gets fuel spark but without compresion it'll just not run or start,if careful you can remove the piston soak it with ring atached in carb cleaner and get it springy again or replace the ring with a new one it has a 1.353 (34.38)mm bore and a ring thikness of .061 hope this helps
