i would hit F8 while restarting the computer and before the windows logo appears choose "safe mode" and uninstall avg. you may also try using windows restore to get your computer working again. HERE is a like from Microsoft on how to restore your computer to a previous date
1.Get a good
Antivirus Software. (you
can try FREE AVG, Microsoft security essential etc)
Antivirus Software updated
with latest Virus signatures.
Internet Firewall.(I use free
pc tool firewall plus, zone alarm)
4.If you are
Microsoft Windows user, turn
on automatic updating.
an e-mail attachment from
someone you don’t know.
opening an e-mail attachment
from someone you know, unless you know exactly what the attachment is.
sender may be unaware that it contains a virus.
Uninstall and then Re-install as Administrator, The "Service" or program that starts, and stays on all during the session, isn't "Starting" either due to privileges, or some error. You could first try to enable the service, START>>RUN>>services.msc enter Look in the list that comes up for that service, avgwdsvc, if there, Enable it, and set to Automatic. But it will probably need reinstalling as Admin.
your PC might still have a virus, you have to download or install new virus protection program to solve this and virus program should be always be updated, try avira premium security 90 days trial, this one work for me than avg.
First - try step one- If that doesn't work, try step two.
Many virus scanners prevent programs from accessing the internet. Please go to download.avg.com This user manual will show you what settings you you can put your new software at to access the internet.
2. If that doesn't work- restore the system to the day before you added the software
Avg 8.0 may not be compatible with vista. You can try to reinstalled your windows security by selecting them from the add/remove programs feature in windows setup, located in the control panel. It's hidden in there but available through searching.
I would recommend using Windows One Care. If you install that from Microsoft.com, it may turn your Windows security back on while making it possible to usinstall AVG.
