Question about HP PSC 2175 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Scanwagon won't stop pulling back

whenever i switch my printer on, it starts initialising. usually the scanwagon (i dont really know how its called - that device that has the light on it ... which actually scans the documents) would go foreward a bit and then was pulled back into its "start position". yet now it keeps pulling back, even when its way back and starts to make cracking noises in an attempt to pull further back.

i can't print, copy or scan anything anymore, because it is stuck in initialisation. i have already tried disconnecting the power-chord fo 30 sec ..... and i have tried pulling the power-chord for 30 sec, then holding the "cancel" and "right arrow" button simultaneously while putting the power-chord back. nothing has helped yet :(

i hope someone can help me on his issue! thank you in advance!!

I have the same problem, the printer is stuck in the initializing mode and tries to move the scanner beyond stopping position. While doing so, it can not be stopped by other means, than taking away the power supply.

    Best regards

How to turn off a brother printer HL-2140. Simply use the power switch?

Sure a power switch shut off will not hurt anything but save you on eletric bills. Shoot you could even pull the plug and still get away with nothing happening but if you do not plug it back in then you know what happends then? You just dont print. So sure power button will put you in some great ECOLogistics thats for sure.

Thanks for the question, please do feel free to leave some postive feedback to keep these questions being anwered free.

I have my canon ipf710, after six printings, it usually to stop. The message after stopped is" error 03130031-2F13 switch out the printer and re-start after". Now, i don't know what to do....

We have found to fix this problem the best option is to push the print head back to its home position (far right) and unplugging the printer for 1 min or so (just to make sure its memory has lost all awareness we messed with it). Then plug it in and it goes fine... The problem we used to have is the same many of you are complaining about it drains ink like a vampire whenever you have to restart it. To cope with this we have upgraded our firmware which has drastically decreased the amount of ink we waist due to less cleaning and agitating functions. Hope this helps out someone it took us a while to get back

I hava a i850 -- when I turn it on and it goes thru its set up then the amber light comes on blinks 7 times stops then blinks again 7 times -- cannot stop it -- also when I open it the print head stays in...

From Canon:

Probably your waste ink counter. Should be cleaned or replaced before resetting but usually you can get away with resetting once.
1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER

0 presses - green light - Test Print
1 press - orange light - EEPROM info print
2 presses - green light - EEPROM initialise
3 presses - orange light - reset waste ink counter.

Hope this helps.

The paper is pulling on one side then it jams

If this is an old printer then the carriage is out of alignment usually caused by something blocking the carriage when initialising, needs to go to repair shop although not usually worth it.

Second thought is I assume you have moved the guide plate to keep paper to the right hand side of the printer.?

How to assign ip to the printer

Using the LPT port is not the same as using the network port. The LPT port does not utulise an IP address.
Plug in a network cable to network port and the printer wil usually aquire an ip address via DHCP.
I repeat the LPT port is not a network port and cant initialise an ip address

In starting 1 page print

I believe that after changing the ink cartridge you havent completed the alignment process. This Alignment test page will print everytime you turn the printer ON.To Complete the alignment follow my steps.

1.After turning the printer ON, wait untill the printer prints the Alignment test page.

2.Then place the alignment test paper on the scanner, facing down in a correct position.

3.Then press the Scan button(color) and wait untill the printer ON light stops flashing.

4.After the light stops flashing, take the paper out and the alignment process is completed.

Turn OFF and turn On the printer, it will not print the Test page again.try it and please let me know.Would really appreciate your rating for my solution.

Paper jam and bad printing

Try this, remove all paper and bins.
then get alcohol and a clean cloth, clean all rollers and tires.
You will get a lot of black dirt and stuff off after cleaning
really well try, if it works for a while then yhat was your problem,
if it is only temporary then tires will need replacing.

Comment by check it right,

Good Luck

Scan head/carriage not parking in one spot -- keeps moving.

The scanner is having trouble getting its "white reference" usually due to dusty mirrors, but can also be the bulb losing brightness. These are not a easy machine to pull apart if your not used to it.

Good colour laser MFP, depends on volume of prints and remember colour dont come cheap, but dont use refill cartridges, Kyocera and Oki both have good Models
