The horn pad is most likely sun warped, ther is no other reason I know of, and yes it will be very expensive if you have an airbag.

Fuse keeps blowing when I honk the horn. 2011 Mitsubishi Galant SE

Try disconnecting the horn and see if the fuse still blows when you press the horn button. If it does not blow the horn is probably bad. Buy a new horn.

Silverado horn

Unplug the horn

If the fuses do not blow & you have
battery voltage at the wire connector
you took off, when pushing the horn
pad, then replace the horn

If the fuse blows with the horn out of the circuit,
then you got to do some testing for a short in the
wiring or horn button area.

Personally I would start by looking at a wiring diagram,
so I wasn't guessing at where I'm about to do my testing.

Charged battery replacement

Usually this is because the battery is still too low. I would try a new battery. You may have a bad cell. Try that first. or use a jumper cable from a known good car. to make it easier you might want to unhook the horn wire while you try it all.

2008 Ford Escape Horn fuse keeps blowing after replacing alternator. Horn sounds once then the fuse blows. Also radio and song info that displays in the dash console with the compass does not work... The...

I would trace the wire from the horn and see if it was inadvertently damaged when the alternator was installed. If you have a voltmeter, you can remove the horn fuse and check to see if there is continuity between the horn (non hot side) of the fuse and the car body. This would indicate a short in the wire running from the fuse box to the horn. You can also look around the alternator mounting area to see if any wires are being pinched. Hope this helps. Good luck!

The fuse for the horn keeps blowing. Any reason

Most common problem is the ground that the horn connects to wit the bolt is rusted and causes it to pull to much amperage so clean the contact first then if it still blows the fuse then the horn relay or the horn may be going bad.over time the horn gets junk in it and causes the coil to overheat and causes it to burn out. Horns cost $15.00 for a new horn and are easy to change. I doubt the relay is bad but it is always possible.
