Please take a good look at the front of your printer and make sure that the only thing blinking is the exclamation point. If it is then it means that the cover to your printer is not closed all the way. Try opening and closing the printer to cancel this error.

If there is a picture of a sun, an ink droplet or anything else along with the blinking exclamation point then the error can mean different things.

the sun light and the deum icon +error message ! sign are both blinking on my Dell 1710
i have changed the toner drum but it keeps blinking should i have to change the inside drum too. because the last time it stop working paper rolled over it..still wondering what other different it is or might be? shall i change the inside drum too?

Did you reset the counter after you replaced the drum? To reset the counter press and hold the cancel X button until all the lights flash in sequence. Try that and see if it solves your issue. Report what you find and I will continue helping until this is solved.

My dell 1710 cant print it keeps showing or blinking " !" sign

There is a link to your printers manual that includes troubleshooting error codes. The blinking exclamation point means that the printers cover is not closed all the way. If there are any other pictures on the printers display that are also blinking like an ink drop or a sun then it can mean something else.

Hi i have a problem during printing is the paper is strucking in the middle of during printing processes the printer modle number is Dell 1710

Hi, the printer manual or the printer itself would have instructions on how to remove paper jams. Also loosen the guides alongside the paper feed a bit to ensure it is not holding onto the paper sides too tightly as this will continue to cause jams.

Is the Dell 1710 made by lexmark? if so which model is it

Hi,
Yes they are.Dell printers are made by Lexmark. The 1710 is actually a Lexmark E240 in Dell clothing - a very highly rated printer and a top pick by Buyers Lab Inc (7,000 pages without a single paper jam according to BLI). HP has a bogus comparison of the Dell 1710 with the HP 1320. HP never actually bothered to test the 1710 and based its comparison on the 1700, not the 1710. I can tell you that the 1710 first page out is 8 seconds, not the 34 seconds that HP states. Also, the HP 1320 is TWICE the price of the 1710, so the comparison itself makes no sense (and of course a $159 printer will not have duplex printing!)
Thanks!!

Dell 1710 printing garbage

What type of document are you trying to print? Are you using PS or PCL driver?

If you are trying to print a PDF, the PS driver is the way to go. It processes the documents better.

Dell 1710

If that is the only light:
Remove the toner cartridge and firmly shake it from side-to-side and front-to-back several to use the
remaining toner, and then reinsert it and continue printing. Repeat this procedure multiple times until
the print remains faded. When the print remains faded, replace the toner cartridge

If not let me know.
