Question about Google Gmail

1 Answer

Log-in hassels Why,about every 2 or 3 months, do you require your customers to re-enter their user name AND password to get to their mailbox? Is this REALLY necessary? This is really an unwanted hassel and does nothing to enhance the gmail experience. I've had email accounts when you guys were still wetting your pants and nothing bad ever happened as a result. TAKE IT OUT OF THERE !!!!!

    Hi Robert,

Ever since I signed up with Gmail some 8 or 9 months ago it seems that every couple of months when I hit the Gmail button instead of going to Gmail I'm asked to provide my user name and password before I can access my mail. This is getting to be a big nuisance and I'm getting just a little tired of it. I can see absolutely no reason for this kind of action. For some 20 years I used Eudora which did everything I wanted but Qualcom decided not to support is anymore and that left a bunch of us out in the cold. My son told me about Gmail so I tried it so except for a few issues it is better than nothing. (The price is right anyway.)

All I want to do is stop that nagging request for information, which they already have. Is there a way to stop that action?

asking the wrong people to change that... you should be talking to google.... look on the bottom of the gmail screen for "contact us". be that as it may it is more a security issue. i am wondering one thing tho. is it asking you to make a new password every three months ? I can explain how to fix that if you like and that is the issue you are having.

You might also consider www.hotmail.com .... actually their are a number of free email hosting sites to choose from nowadays. what you are encountering is more likely a security type issues. if you computer were stolen they would be able to read your emails for awhile untill you got to a computer and reset it. personal data security is certainly a big thing with the explosion of information you can obtain on the internet.
when you sign in there will be a check mark to keep your user name and password. this is stored locally on your computer. so emptying your cookies folder or other junk files will remove that. formatting your computer etc does the same thing. also there is a check mark to reset your password every 72 days tho the one i'm thinking of is likely hotmail.

How do I unlock voicemail on a hand set?

Enter the admin mailbox (usually FEATURE 981). Follow the prompts to enter the mailbox change menu for the box you need to reset and select the "reset password" function. This unlocks the box and sets the password to 0000, which will then prompt the user to enter a new password when the mailbox is opened.

I need to know how to change the name that shows up with each extension and how to access the voicemail if you do not have the previous users password?

I'm guessing that your looking to change the name on the telephone system and not the voice mail.
Programming is done on 7310, 7324 and 7316 type sets.
Enter programming by pressing the feature key followed by **266344.When prompted to enter the password enter 266344.
The screen should say TERMINALS&SETS. The 4 top line/feature keys are now used for programming.
At the terminals&sets prompt, press the show key (top right arrow).
The display should now ask for an extension number.
Enter extension number you want to change the name on.
Press the show key (top right arrow)
The display should say LINE ACCESS
Press the next key (bottom right arrow) .
The display should say CAPABILITIES.
Press the next key (bottom right arrow) .
The display say Name.
press the Chng soft key.
use the dial pad to enter the name. advance using the arrow soft key to go to the next letter
ex. Bill = 2,2 -> 4,4,4 -> 5,5,5 -> 5,5,5
Press the next key (bottom right arrow) to enter the name.
Press the release key when finished

The password on the mailbox that you don't know the password to will need to be reset to access that mailbox. While in admin programming you can change the name on the mailbox.
To reset your voice mail password,on press feature 983 the screen should say log:
enter 1020000 (default password) if you have a 3 digit intercom number, 120000 if you have a 2 digit intercom number
the display should say mbox, AA, and othr above the three soft keys
press the mbox soft key
the screen should say add, del, and chng above the soft keys
press the chng soft key
enter in the mailbox number you wish to reset the password on
press ok
the screen should say reset and next above the soft keys
press the reset soft key
If you pres the next soft key 2 or 3 more times you'll come to the name of the mailbox press Chng and enter in the new name (the # key advances by a space and pressing # twice puts the comma to separate the first and last name press ok when finished
press the Rls key
your password will be reset to 0000

Gprs

you will need to ask your service provider to send you the GPRS/WAP settings for your handset.
they will text it to you, and then u save them and it will be listed in
Menu > Settings > Configuration > Default
select that setting and set it to be the default setting and then click on Act. Def. In all applications (this will activate default settings in all applications that use GPRS)

or if u knew the access point settings and all, u can add a manual setting and make that as default.
