Unit showing 88.8 in the LCD window.

Hi - I've just purchased an Impulse QT-206 Digital Depth Sounder and notice the unit shows 88.8 in the LCD window. Is there anyway I can repair this so it works properly?

Thanks

Hello geld1. Your problem is the transducer, cable or connector. Check transducer with an ohm meter, flex the cable while ohming the restance shouldn't change. The location and mounting of the transducer could be the main problem. Use the the correct gel film including a secure postion support.

I have a boat with a Uniden QT-206W depth finder in it and I can't figure out how to get it to work correctly in my boat. Is there any manual or information I can get to help me with this? It has 3 digits on the gauge and no decimal point and it is telling me that the water depth in the Mississippi is for an example 186' deep and the numbers will flash at different intervals.

Hello, I would like to know, how to change the '' units of measure? How to change feet to meters? Model: QT-206W depht Thanks Vini.

Hi Vini!

There is no "meters" option on your unit. Feet is the only unit of measurement available.

In case you've misplaced your owners manual, you can view/download it at:

I was told that the Uniden QT-206HP depth sounder will not work thru an alunium hull is this true or false

Hi!

The transducer for your depth gauge will not work through an aluminum hull. A drilled through-hull transducer or a transom mount transducer are your options here.

Just in case you require it, your Owners Manual can be viewed/downloaded at:

Im not familiar with your particular unit but you should be using a low frequency transducer for water over 500'; something like a 50 kHz transducer or a dual frequency transducer like a 50/200kHz for detail with the high freq. but increased depth range on the lower frequency. As far as setting it to 250 ft, you should be able to use the range feature and adjust the maximum to 250'. typically the factory default is automatic so it will caonstantly adjust the range based on the maximum current depth.

Need connections for the uniden qt-206 um200f to connect the wires to a airmar p79 tranducer

The P79 connects to the QT 206 as follows.
Red and black are side-by-side (red on the left) while the shield connects below the red. In case anyone requires it, here is the link to the QT 206 owners manual.

Hope this helpful

Depth Sounder does not display depth

I will see if I can get mine off the hull for testing. Still have found no procedure. Thinking about just replacing the sounder with another unit.

Si-tex cvs 106 mk11echosounder

To re-program the Si-tex CSV-106 depth sounder to feet/meters/fathoms: Push and hold down the MENU key while turning the unit on (POWER key) to enter a special menu. Release both keys after you hear two beeps, almost immediately. Use the LOWER ALARM key to select the desired unit for depth, then turn off the depth sounder. That's it, just turn on again to see the change.
There is also another menu (for testing sounder) available by pressing the MODE and turning on as above.
