You have a front cover o-ring leak. its a small o-ring behind the front cover that is causing your oil leak. the o-ring is like 5dollar part, but it takes like 6 hours to replace it and its not a job for someone who doesnt work on cars or has mechanical knowhow and tools needed to complete replacement.

How many quarts of oil and what type of oil does a 1996 nissan altima take

4-5 quarts of 5w30, on average. It will depend on motor size...A v-6 uses more oil than a v-4. When in doubt, put 3.5 quarts in, then start measuring with the dipstick to avoid over-filling with oil, as this can blow a gasket, worst case scenario... 5W 30 Synthetic Oil Bing images

2005 Nissan Altima knocking noise when engine starts.

By chance did you check your oil level. That would be ideal before your engine blows out. If that is fine, more in likely it maybe normal. Some GM vehicles do that also due to the cold weather. After sitting for a long period of time the oil will settle in the oil pan til you crank up. The knocking noise may last for 5-10 sec then it stops because the oil is lubricating the pistons again. But if it is constant and oil level is good, get a mechanic to check it out. Hope this helps.

Why does my high beam only works on right side1998 nissan altima

If the fuse blows violently (i.e its pretty black inside the fuse as opposed to just the fuse link being melted) then its a dead short to ground. Follow the hot wire from the switch to the light, someplace its contacting metal and shorting out.

Fuse box diagram for 1997 nissan altima

According to wikipedia, the 1st-generation Nissan Altima was offered from 1992-1997. We have a 1996 nissan altima and attached is a photo of the inside of our fuse box. I also found another page that gives the same info for the 1997. I am sure this diagram would work for the 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, or 1997 Nissan Altima.

1997 nissan altima

remove the arms and the panel or the neted are shich hides the motor and the linkage, what you will find is that the link would have come off either from the motor itself or from the wiper transmission it is linked with a small plastic like press on cup only available from a nissan dealer very cheap and you can do it with very little mechanic's skill

1997 nissan altima

it could be the motor or the linkage between the the two motors. the motors are under the dash and you would be better off taking to a small shop to keep the cost at a minimum.
