Most CDRW drives are secured using 4 screws (2 on each side) which means you have to remove both side plates of the tower to remove the drive, sometimes manufacturers use rails which "clip" the drive in place and are removed via the front instead (sometimes having to remove a retaining screw).

after that the drive is only held in place by the connected cables.

Go to my media player prepare music to download will not burn. rec'd message put in new cd not enough page on this one.

It could very well be that there is not enough memory or minutes on the cd. It also won't work if there is anything on the cd.It could be that a CD/DVD Burner is needed for your computer. The cheapest CD/DVD Burner i know of is LITE-ON 22x DVD-Writer with Smart Erase, iHAP322 it costs $45.72. (Walmart link to product- http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10975613)

Won't reconize DVD burner

Well, the CD ribon cable goes into the IDE 2 slot on the Mainboard and the furthest connector on the other end is the master, the second one closest to the board is the Slave connector. The CD drive has a jumper on the back between where the ribbon and the power connector go, on the case some where it should have a diagram showing the jumper setting to put it in as master or slave. Set it accordingly.

Same with Hard drives.

If the Hard drive has a diferent Cable like a SATA, then be sure to get a SATA as the new one.

Now the IDE cables may be bad check them for damage just to be on the safe side.

DVD/Cd Burner won't run programs.

All you need to do is that put the CD in the CD/DVD drive that you have access and not properly closed. For example here is the situation. I put a cd installer with a file named in the cd setup.exe and it is located in drive D: i access the file setup.exe and I run it or install.. then I decided not to install the programs.. what I did is that is did not cancel the installation but rather I immediately open my cd/dvd drive and get the cd..

What are going to happen? the installation is in the process and I did not cancel the installation properly. In the installation logs of the windows it still have to install the programs but it cannot find the file setup.exe that is located in the Drive D:.

Try to put a cd in your cd/dvd drive with file named setupexe on the cd.. that will solve your problems. TY

HOPE I CAN HELP
