Green Spot/Blotch/Stain/Wierd Thing

So I've got this projector and its producing a strange mark near the upper right of the image. I'm not sure what is causing it and was wondering if you knew how to fix it? It's used and not under warranty. Is there dust on the LCD or do i need to replace something or what? I have experience taking apart and fixing electronics but I'm not really sure what's going on here.Any help would be really appreciated. Let me know. I'm kinda against the clock on this one, so any quick helpful responses would be really great. Thanks! Bigger photos can be found here.

Think it needs a new prism/light assembly so I'm giving it back because its very expensive to replace; probably over 1000$.

It sounds like one of the polarizing lenses has started to burn out. If so the problem will get worse and spread over the whole image. If so it may be too costly to repair, as projectors can be bought for just over £200.

Hope this has helped, good luck

P.S. I bought 7x NEC NP115 for just over £200 each, they are good spec and good lamp life. The lamps are cheap to replace as well

The screen in green?

Sounds like a loose or broken vga cable. Push it in all the way. If it's still greenish try replacing the vga cable to the projector.

P.S. Is it just green in one spot or the whole image?

Blue stain on the image projected by my PLV-Z3

I had the exact same problem with my z3, Turnes out it was the blue filter.
I used the full service manual, and managed to fix mine using the diagrams, and troubleshooting section.

You can get the full service manual here.
