Question about HP Quadro4 980 XGL (128 MB) AGP Graphic Card

I need 2 restart comp after running graphic apps

Hi from New Zealand! I have to restart my computer (running Win XP) whenever I close graphics apps such as Celestia, otherwise Celestia won't reopen and no video application will open.

Sounds like your system is not freeing the RAM after using the program. You can manually close them by going into the processes section of your task manager or rebooting. Best solution would be to try upgrading system RAM and see if more RAM fixes the problem. Hope this helps.

Go to control panel then device manager then eliminate the drivers for your old card and the new one as well restart computer. Run the driver install if prompted to do so. Hope this helps

New graphics card, no picture


1. Try to start in SAFE Mode by press f8 while booting. If successfull.
2. Press F8 again select enable VGA mode and continue.
3. Your monitor is not supporting the resolution reduce and restart it will work fine.
4 To reduce the resolution desktop right click, select properties goto tab setting - reduce resolution

is it possible for you to test the card in another omputer ? like a friends or something ?

sound as if your card may be overheating...hence the need to restart the PC...normally if the card is faulty it will not work at all..

take the side over off your PC and use a normal room fan to blow air into your box... if everything now works fine you need more fans to extract heat out of you system...

Computer restarting again and again


Did you try to reinstall the game? Do all windows updates? Did you have all recent drivers? If thoose are all done, try a reinstall of the OS. with all drivers.

Sapphire HD 2600 XT Driver Problems


Just because you have a new video card with CD drivers does not mean the drivers are the latest. Go to Saffhire directly & download the latest driver software for you're card.

Uninstall any older driver software before installing newer. Try not to restart the system between installs.
And update windows before you install the new drivers. You do not need to install WinXP SP3. Unless you want too.

We want work win xp ver card recomends win 95, win nt


this card will not be able to run XP as the minimum needed to run graphically is 32MB graphics, you would be better getting a more upto date card.
