If your dishwasher is displaying error code 5E, It can be caused by a kinked drain hose.
If the drain hose is kinked, there will be an excessive amount of water in the bottom of your dishwasher after a cycle has been completed.
In order to access the drain hose you need access to the back of the dishwasher. If your dishwasher was recently installed, contact the installer to move the dishwasher and inspect the drain hose.
If the drain hose is not kinked, but your dishwasher is still not draining, service is required.

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump.

It is quite common for a dishwasher to not drain because either the drain hose or the air gap (if the unit has one) is clogged up. Drain hose clogs commonly occur where the hose is attached to the main household drain line, or where the hose connects with the garbage disposer. Try removing the drain hose to unclog any debris.
