I have a CD-RW manufactured in November 1999, model #4432A. Is it still worth keeping? I also have one manufactured in June 2003, model #CW5205. I just wonder if these are any good any more. Thanks

plug it in and put the cd which comes with the burner install the software (nero) if you did not get the cd with it try to download from the internet go to google.com

I recently installed a dvd writer for my neighbor. they used a top brand dvd-r / rw and never had any problem. but after the new install they had the same problem . after visiting the manufacturer's website we found that that certain brand of dvd were recommended. check the manufacturers site for dvd recommendations.
Could be problem with the optic, try to clean the optic
with CD cleaner first.
And if it still doesnt work, unfortunately you should replace with
another new CD Drive.
