WHEN YOU TURN ON YOUR CAMERA AND LPPK AT THE CAMERA SCREEN IT SAYS 'MEMORY CARD IS WRITE PROTECTED'WITH THIS DISPLAYED YOU ARE UNABLE TO TAKE PICTURE,YOU CAN GO TO THE MENU BUT CANT OPEN UP ANY CHOICES '

My screen says memory card is protected (reset switch on memory card)

Just turn off the camera and take out the memory card. Then just adjust the small tab located at the upper left side of the card to unprotect it. Then put back he card and turn on ye camera again. That's it!

It isn't the screen that is write protected but the memory card.

Your memory card is an SD type. These cards have a little switch on the card that can write protect or "lock" it. Take the card out of the camera and check this switch. To unlock it, it should be moved towards the edge of the card which has the electrical contacts.
