Question about Asko Washing Machines

Open Question

Asko 10625 Front-loading washing machine (Sydney, Australia) Problem #1: Plugged into one of the power circuits in my house it trips the circuit breaker. However, if I plug it into the "stove/oven" circuit it operates somewhat (see Problem #2). Problem #2: Once power is restored to the unit, it will fill with water. It will run through the numerous "clicks" to signify that it is loading the selected program. Then it will make noises like it is trying to spin the drum, but no movement occurs. This leaves the clothes sodden and unwashed. Please help - it's going to take at least a week to get an Asko technician out to look at it!! Many thanks, Baz Sydney

SOURCE: asko 10625 will not spin

it is probably the belt, take off the back of the machine and look at the black rubber belt that spins the cleaning drum. The belts break after about 5 years, you can get a replacement belt at you local Asko dealer, I recall that is was pretty easy to change, like doing a bike chain, Talk to you Asko dealer about how to change it.

After a piece of gyprock fell on top of the washing machine, it now no longer has any power.

as its a front loader
a few things can happen

i think you need to take the top off the machine

and using the plug for the mains

and a DVM meter {cheep } use ohms setting like 20 or beep or both

and then from the plug follow the mains from the plug
to the supply inside the machine

examine where the cable goes in etc
look for 'open circuit ' lines

if the two likes connected accross from mains in to inside
doesnt beep the wire is disconnected
L N should power on lines enable

your shure to track it down this way ...
machine dont have internal fuses
i think its a chopped cable cracked board or loose plug

rule out the obvious and what ever left must be the truth

it could have even just knocked off a plug on the main controller.....pcb
{underneath at the back right ..}

The power won't turn on, how can i fix that?

The possible causes for this unusual behavior may be if 1) electrical power cord may not be plugged in or connection or may be loose. To make sure this is not the problem see that the plug fits tightly in wall outlet.
2) House fuse is blown, circuit breaker tripped, or a power outage has occurred. Reset circuit breaker or replace fuse. Do not increase fuse capacity. If problem is a circuit overload, have it corrected by a qualified electrician.
3)Water supply tap is not turned on. Turn on water supply tap.
If all the above methods doesn't work, please call at 1-877-714-7486 to locate your nearest LG service center.

The electrical consumer unit trips when the dishwasher is on, swicthing all the sockets off in the house. An electrician has told me it could be a number of things, namely a problem with the neutral, some...

You might need to contact a different electrician. Also a different retailer of machines as this one is obviously trying to make a sale. The apparent problem is that the house is wired with all of the outlets in the house on one circuit breaker--a recipe for trouble. Any house with multiple outlets should be divided into zones so that the whole house doesn't shut down if one appliance trips the breaker. A heavy user of power like a dishwasher should have it's own breaker and wiring for that machine alone. The electrician should have load-checked the dishwasher to make sure it is not drawing more than rated power, then suggested that it be wired to it's own breaker and circuit. Any other high power appliances should also have separate circuits (washing machine, microwave, toaster, etc.). Hope this helps!

Is there a fuse or circuit breaker i can reset if 220v was put to my washing machine? i was rewiring the breaker panel and got two circuits reversed, the washing machine circuit and the water heater...

No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped? Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it. Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse

Candy Eclipse washing machine blows the circuit breaker

It's possible that the current rating of the MCB is too low to run your washing machine PLUS all the devices plugged into the other sockets on the same circuit. If possible, try plugging in the washing machine on a circuit with fewer or no other appliances plugged in. MCB's are much faster tripping than circuit breakers and are rated to trip at the current rating on them. Circuit breakers, may carry a current slightly over the rated current which may be why it never happened before. The permanent solutions (if the overloaded circuit is the problem) would be to install a circuit solely for the washer and dryer or install a MCB with a higher current rating. The latter solution is not practical, however, since an overload on lower power devices may never reach the current rating of the MCB creating a hazardous shock potential.

W640T2 (CIRCIUT BOARD)

I am a technician for Asko in Australia. The blackness on the motor control unit(circuit board) is probably carbon dust from the carbon brushes in electric motor.Likely problem is motor brushes have totally worn the armiture in motor or the MCU needs replacing due to earth leakage or short.Purchasing the parts from Asko should be no problem, but if you purchase and install electrical componenents only to find problem unresolved, you can't return installed parts for a refund. Also the breather hose from the detergent dispensor to outer tank can leak from tank connection when spinning load , and result in water running down outer tank and onto the electric motor causing circuit breaker to trip.....possibly damaging motor too. Goodluck!!
