Question about Mitsubishi Air Conditioners

1 Answer

Our Mitsubishi FDC506HES ducted air conditioner keeps shutting off on hot and cold after about 10 minutes and flashes and the comes up with the error code E3.It will heat for those 10 monutes before it shuts down but it will not really cool at all. Please help. We cant afford to get someone to fix it. We just paid a guy to come and look at it $120 and still he said he didnt know and would have to contact Mitsubishi and get back to us. $120 for that. That was a good portion of our weekly budget GONE and still we have no cool air as the weather heats up. What is E3 and can we do something. My hubby is pretty cluey and Im sure with instruction could do what ever these aircon guys who charge $120 per half hr could do. Please we are desperate!

Try to reset the error by disconnecting the circuit breaker for 10sec. and "on" again then operate the unit. But if wont work may there some parts that are defective that trigger the error E3. Replacement of pars is needed for this problem.

Mitsubishi ac keeps on turning itself off

If the compressor overheats, the clixon circuit will shut off the power to the motor to prevent damage. Then when it cools it will close the circuit and the compressor will again run to only shut down again.
The suction line going to the compressor should be cold - the cold gas returning to unit cools the hermetically sealed motor. If that line is hot you may be low on refrigerant.

It's not indicated to turn directly from cooling mode to heating mode. You must wait about two or three minutes before the change. After the spliter start, you must wait few minutes to get hot air.

Heater!!!

I am experiencing a similar problem with my Mitsubishi slimline MSH09TW unit; about 4 years old; It use to give us very hot air now it is giving some what hot air; northeastern USA current temperature about 15F. You think frigid weather in Cranbury NJ could be responsible or some thing else is going on. Please help me if you have some time and knowledge about Mitsubishi heat pumps. Sincerely, DSS
