When I start Up my psp it doesn't read the Umd I have it it and doesn't Respond to the turn off unless I take out the umd. I've tryed it with a few diffrent games so I've pin pointed that there's somthing wrong with the psp reading the umds...Please help.

Hi! I incounter this problem as well even without UMD its still loading and even I disable auto-start UMD still same so I tried reflashing the software but still same problem so I discover the solution before you turn-on your PSP try to open your UMD cover you'll see it will load faster then close again the cover once you see the battery and clock icon... The problem that causing this is the switch inside the UMD possible its stock-up or spoiled already!

your son probably dropped his PSP at the time and the UMD drive broke or if your son says he didnt drop it you can get a cutip and softly clean your UMD reader the little bubble sorta in your PSP be carful while doing that
the problem isnt your firmware its your umd reader inside your umd drive you or somone probably dropped your psp and damaged it so the psp can no longer read UMD's either get a new psp or replace your UMD drive thats all that can be done
