Question about Panasonic Lands Phones

5 Answers

I have a Panasonic VS7 cell phone and the strangest thing has happened - it functions fine but the display is now a white screen. I have tried removing the battery and putting it back in but that didn't do anything. HELP!!!!! I didn't drop this or spill anything on it to make it be this way.

    Does that usually work?

  • brian_dm Sep 22, 2008

but resetting it will also wipe out my data stored right?

  • brian_dm Sep 28, 2008

Ok, the white screen on my Panasonic VS7 cell phone appears to be due to a crack on the LCD (a local phone repair guy has told me so). Does anyone know where I can find a LCD replacement for this model. Please let me know.

This is an old phone - they don't make them anymore. I got this off a friend and not sure if it is under warranty anymore. I need to find a screen from a supplier somewhere.

  • brian_dm Sep 28, 2008

The thing is it is with a repair guy right now and he cant find a replacement for it. The problem is finding the replacement. I tried looking online but to no avail.

Hi,
Replacing the battery and flashing the phone would never fix your problem. Replace the Display screen. Please use our Fixya service to get the lcd screen by entering the ZIP code at the starting of the web page. Thank you.......

If you take this phone to a cellphone reapir shop you can just let them replace the broken LCD screen because it hard to find an LCD for this specially if you're just going to buy one piece of it...

You can ask for their distributor, but chances are you can bring this to a servicer first because it may be the FLEX cable (from board to LCD) that you are having an issue with.It might need replacement, then ask for the product number of any damaged part so that you will know what to look for when you need to buy one.

    Thanks for using fixya

I'm sorry to hear that, where did you buy it? it might be that they have discontinued the parts already. Buy a new cellphone instead, since there is nothing much more that we can do for it. We might see one but it might cause you as much as buying a new one.

HI,

You will have to to take the back panel off, remove the battery and clean the connections. If this doesn't fix the issue then the problem is with the LC or the main board. The most common failure is the broken contacts.

Led display does not work on my panasonic 5.8Ghz phone KX-TG5632

I just spoke to Panasonic Tech Support about the LED screen being blank. FYI its blank on both my handsets - one which I never even use. He made me do a few button presses, etc but nothing worked. So he tells me I have a "loose connection on the LED" so I must have dropped the phone or something. I said NO, I never dropped the phone, and one of the handsets I never even used - and its happening on that one too. So bottom line you have to take it to a Panasonic repair center at your own expense if its over the one year warranty - for what I personally think is a flaw on their phone design. I think after so much time the LED screen just goes away...since its happening on both handsets, and neither of them were dropped. Its a shame because the phone works fine, but I need the LED screen for the mute button, etc. So my solution for you is to stay away from Panasonic phones and the lame customer support, and go buy a different brand.

Panasonic KX-TG5631 that works but no display

This problem can have many solutions as it can have many origins. But one of them, and it seems the problem is synchronized, happening to several handsets within a short period of time, as if they ran out of their useful life all together, is caused by the breakage of the flat cable connecting the display to the main board. The thin film conducting material deposited on the plastic base wears off or breaks just close to the display driver making it impossible for the video signals to reach the LCD.
A solution I found was to file part of the white plastic display support base to give the flat cable some slack, and them to insert a rubber wedge between the support and the main board to keep some pressure on the cable, lifting it up a bit, bending the cable as to make the film cracks close and remake electrical contact.
It is not a permanent fix (replacing the display would be) but the phones can go back to normal operation for some time. How long? I don't know yet.

How do I delete all old messages?

Use the left arrow on the direction circle then when the display shows incoming call log press the enter key. If you want to remove all entries just keep pressing the CLEAR button just below the display screen untill it goes back and show RING inplace of CLEAR.

This if you do not have the buttons below the display screen you need to get a 24 button Panasonic KX-T7630AL Corded Phone and you will have the functionality to do it, the 12 button version can not delete the logs.
