SOURCE: Clean Oven Door Glass

To remove oven door:
1. The oven door is held to the oven door hinges by two
screws. (One in each hinge.)
2. To remove the oven door remove the two screws.
Two screws
3. Close the door to the broil stop position and lift up.
then remove the door handle and take out all the screws around the edges of the door and pull the out side cover from the inner but a word of caution there are about three or 4 pieces of glass they are tempered and about 100 bucks a piece and most times they wont get real clean and will get messy again

Putting door back on but hinge wont release to put back on

Hi Susan, this is AP! Thank you for your post.

I understand you are having trouble putting the door back on your Frigidaire wall oven. Without knowing exactly how you removed the door I cannot say with certainty how to reattach the door. However, when removing the door did you pull up the lock located on both hinge supports and engage it in the hinge lever hooks? You might have had to apply a little downward pressure on the door to pull the locks fully over the hinge lever hooks. Then grab the door by the sides and pull the bottom of the door up and toward you to disengage the hinge supports. If so, then to reattached the door grab the door by the sides; place the hinge supports in the hinge slots. Open the door to the fully opened position. Disengage the lock from the hinge lever hooks on both sides. Make sure the hinge supports are fully engaged before unlocking the hinge levers. Then close the oven door. There are instructions with images to remove and replace the oven door in the owner's manual. I hope this information proves helpful for you.

We have a Hotpoint double oven spec# BD52K and after having the element refitted have notice that the bottom oven door no longer fits flush causing the oven not to seal correctly. is there any way that...

Assuming that the door was not removed for the new element to be fitted, then it sounds to ne as thiugh the oven door hinges are weak.
The only solution is to replace both door hinges,
If the door was removed, then it could possibly be not fitted back correctly.

If the fan is working o/k, then it is sure to be the oven element that has failed.
This is located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.

Oven door not closing properly

If it is a drop down door with hinges on the bootom of the oven door, then it is likely to be weak door hinge springs, the usual solution is to replace both hinges.
If it is a swing open door, then the problem is related to a worn or broken door catch, or worn striker pin.

Doors don't shut all the way and light stays on

It sounds like your door hinges are worn, usually on older ovens due to weight of door. Most oven doors can be removed by simply raising the tabs/ fitting small screwdriver on both hinges(refer to user manual) etc. Once door is removed you can place a medium size screwdriver or similar in the hinge slot, pushing the hinge plate on the bottom in an outward direction, thereby bending this plate(very slightly) forward. This will make the door close fully, activating the door switch, and turning off the oven light. This is only a short term solution, as this hot air escaping can lead to further problems. Hinge pair will need replacing. Door hinges are spring loaded ALWAYS KEEP FINGERS AND HANDS CLEAR OF LOADED HINGES.

How do I remove the oven door on a Garland Range

Hi, is this unit a convection unit? usually you don't need to remove the door to replace the thermocouple, if it is convection unit, you will need to shut the gas off, remove the safety, and there are two metal plates covering the burner area, take those out, the next thing is to remove is the burner, it is usually just fitted in the back, once this is out, as the pilot is attached to it, you can replace the t'couple now, assemble reverse.

If you really need to remove the door, and you are really lucky, remember to undo the spring hooks holding the door so it does not snap the door closed during disassembly, usually you can just pry up on the triangle near the hook, releasing tension to unhook the door hooks, leaving the springs attached. You can just take the screws out that hold the top of the door, the bottom of the door, and I think the handle, then the door skins split, and on each side at the hinge, there is a set of bolts holding the hinge in place, remove these, and you should be able to remove the door, otherwise you need to take the bottom kick plate off, along each edge inside the door frame, are screws holding the outer channels in place, remove these, and down along the inside of the kick plate edge too. Easily pry these away from the oven body, older units had a solid piece from front to back, and you had to remove the entire side panels, or were spot welded altogether, all you can do then is pry them back best as possible, and hopefully they won't crease. Inside these channels are the hinge plates that the hinge goes into, unbolt them, slide the door out, and there you have a door in you hand. Garland has a kit to replace all of these parts as you go, if they are badly worn. I know, allot for a thermocouple. Hope that helps, and thank you.

Electrolux Oven EOG9330

Hope this helps (technique used on EOG9330XN):
1) With the door open, on each hinge, there is a top cover which lies flush with the hinge. Simply swing this cover up and back towards you. This unlocks the hinge. Undo both and carefully close the door, holding it at the bottom. The door should be able to be pulled away from the frame now. Lay the door on a flat surface.
2) The oven will normally be attached to the surrounding built-in cupbpard. If so, unscrew all attachment screws (mine had at least three per side) and pull the whole oven out about seven inches, supporting if neccessary. Each side panel has a locating screw in bottom front corner, so remove the screw. Peel back the side panel (only thin alloy, but watch for sharp edges) sufficiently to see.....
3) The two side securing screws for the door hinge receiver should be visible. After pulling receiver forward, if loose, tighten securing screws (use lock washers if available, as Electrolux don't provide them).
4) Reverse the procedure to finish job, fitting the door in the near vertical position to engage hinges in the receivers. Support the door, lower to open position and flip the locking hinge covers back.
[This technique works if the hinges aren't worn and if the door doesn't close properly, it usually means that the receivers are loose and have been pushed back into the oven frame].
