I have a Behringer xenyx 802 audio mixer and have lost the power supply. I tried to buy a replacement, but cannot find any in stock. I'm very resourceful and thought I'd make one. The spec sheet calls for...

No, you can't just jump the pins together. The power supply in the mixer needs two separate 18-volt AC inputs because it makes two supply voltages, +15 and -15 volts.

The external supply is just a potted 36-volt transformer with a center-tapped secondary. I bought an open-box Behringer (not your model, but similar) that was missing its supply, and found this transformer which works fine. (I actually did find a couple of sources for a replacement Behringer supply, but it cost more than I paid for the mixer!) Just connect the three output leads to the appropriate places on the mixer's PC board. In mine, I removed the original input connector and soldered a pigtail with a 3-pin connector from Radio Shack to the PC lands, then attached the matching plug to the transformer leads. You'll also need to provide an enclosure of some kind to prevent contact with the line voltage input to the transformer and to protect the thing if you carry it around.

I have a pmp518m powered mixer. can i set it to be a passive mixer?

NO. It is a powered mixer only - although there is nothing to stop you turning the master volume control down to zero (even so I would still prefer to have speakers connected to ensure that there is no overloading of the output stage). However you can attach a separate amplifier by using the AMP INSERT socket with a TRS (tip ring sleeve) STEREO jack plug.

Low mic output on BEHRINGER XENYX 1832FX

You don't indicate what type of mic you are attempting to use. From your description, I would guess that you have a mic that requires phantom power. I believe that there is a phantom power switch on your mixer. Try turning that on to see if that resolves the problem. Phantom power will not harm a standard mic. Please update this with your results.

Thanks,
Dan

I have a Behringer 2642a mixer and a Roland 201 Space echo. How do I connect the echo into the mixer? There are so many input and outputs on the back of the mixer! Pete

This is relatively easy. All you need are two stereo RCA cables and RCA to 1/4" adapters. Plug the 1/4" adapters in to the FX1 send jacks on your mixer ( 1 only if you want mono echo, 1 & 2 if you want stereo ), and the other 1/4" adapters into your echo units in and output jacks - of course if you have 1/4" cables, you won't need the adapters.
The output of your echo unit then plugs into the FX return jacks on your mixer. Set your FX1 and FX2 send controls on the channels you want echo up to the 12 o'clock position and turn up the FX send masters also. You should see some level indication on your echo unit. The turn up the FX return controls on your mixer to the extent you want echo.
You may have to do some adjusting of all controls on the mixer and echo unit to get just the right amount of "dry" and "wet" sound.

Power supply problem in a pmp 3000 behringer miker I have + - 56 rail voltage but no 12 v ? to supply the pre amp when you turn on the unit the mixer lights up briefly then dies, this is a switch mode...

I am not familiar with the particulars of your specific model, but with switch mode supplies in gereral, look for defective filter caps on the output side or a defective Zener Diode. If you can post a few photos of the power supply section, I may be able to guide you to the likely parts. Dan

Connecting a behringer djx700 mixer to a panasonic amp

The problem is most likely between the turntable and mixer. You need to be sure that the turntable is connected to a phono input. I'm not sure if your mixer has one. If not, you need to have a phono pre-amp between the turntable and the line input on the mixer.

Check that first and get back to us if you still have problems/questions.

Add additional mics on the vocopro gigman all in one system

Putting spliiters on the input of a Mic priamp to connect to Mics to one pre is a bad idea. There are lots of techy reasons why, but the short version is "Don't Do it"

So how to solve your problem..

If you have a spare Line input you could buy a cheap external mixer, which will take the microphones and provide an appropriate level signal to your machine.

Something like this ought to do it..

If you have no line inputs, then you can use the output of the mixer into a DI Box to match the levels and use your exisiting Mic ins.

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Behringer-DI20-Ultra-DI-2-Channel-Active-DI-Box-Splitter-182481-i1125215.gc

DO NOT CONNECT THE LINE OUT FROM THE MIXER TO THE MIC INPUTS WITHOUT A DI BOX!
