Question about Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

1 Answer

Dc07 problem I have a dc07 cyclonic vaccum and like this model, however, for some reason,it has been very dificult to push and pull for the past month or so. i have completely cleaned the brush assembly, cleared any obstructions in the hoses, and, cleaned the filter.I also checked the belt tension, wich i thought was fine but to no avail.Be advised that the brush assembly is spinning and suction is excellent. It just feels like the brush drags along the carpeting. this is a great vacuum cleaner and i refuse to give up on it,so if you can think of any else i can do to improve it"s performance,it would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely yours, JESMAN72

The dyson uses two belts, one from the motor to a clutch and then from the clutch to the brush roller, the belts that they use are not much better then any other belt ( those you should change yearly ) but you cant just change the belts you have to change the entire clutch assembly itself ( you can get it at sears ) but it is not an easy job you might want to take it to a repair center.

Make sure you switch off the vacuum cleaner.

Here is the instruction to remove the bin
Press the cyclone release catch with your thumb to remove the

clear binTM assembly from the machine.

• When removing bin, do not pull up on carry handle while pressing cyclone release catch

• When replacing the bin, ensure it clicks back into place.

Can anybody recommend a reasonably priced vacuum cleaner that works well and either has bags or is easy to empty?

We use both a Eureka Multi-cyclone and Dyson DC07. They are both easy to use and empty and do a good job. The Eureka was several hundred dollars cheaper.

There is no suction on my vaccum, hoses appear not to be blocked

have you checked your permanent filter. is that plugged? Have you taken the small solid plastic passage off the side of the machine and checked for a plug there?
Did you by chance rinse your cyclone with water at some point? You can disassemble the cyclone and clean that. google has some videos on cleaning your cyclone. just google clean dc07 cyclone and you'll get several

No suctions except when using hose

There is probably a clog between where the hose and brush. If there are any removable flexible sections, pop them off and have a look. If you have access to an air compressor that is a very quick and easy way to blow the clog out in reverse flow path. If you do blow it out I recommend doing this outdoors as it makes a mess. If you do not have air then you need to find a ridgid flexible rod of some sort to push the clog or hook it and pull it out a little at a time.

I need more suction. The Head is too high on my carpet.

Hi.

A slitght adjustment can be made by either screwing on short transparant internal hose on top of floor head tighter or undoing it turn.

Do this on A table as you need to get down to be able to view sole pate movement

Each time you adjust hose stand vac up on the table & pull handle back as if cleaning carpet you must not push head of vac down on the table.

Now look at sole plate usually when they are wrong the sole plate bottom back end tilts up lifting brush from carpet.

Now tap front of head down if sole plate springs back up lifting brush up again adjust hose a bit more.

What you are trying to do is get sole plate as horizontal as you can.

If you really cant get it to pick up dirt any better try fitting new hose they are more sprigier from new,

Dyson vaccume cleaner

Hi,

Remove sole plate by turning 3 plastic screws to unlock then pull plate off.
Check belt has not snapped.
If your machine is all floors with clutch check that selector knob on front side of machine goes to (D) or drive when you pull the handle back.
Let me know how you get on.
