Question about Samsung HLN617W 61" Rear Projection HDTV
I came home one night and my TV had sound but no picture. There's no menu or anything coming onto the screen. It didn't make any noises previous to this happening. It was working for my wife at 5:45 and she turned it off when she left the house. When I turned it on at 6:30 the described problem existed. I replaced the lamp and that did nothing. I've had a certified tech out and he said it wasn't the ballast or color wheel. He said "it might be the digital board or light engine." He said that the digital board would cost about $800-$950 to fix. Any ideas?
Might is not a good word from a tech. there is nothing you can really do yourself without possibly doing damage. browse the Internet for the board at a better price then have him come back and install you will at least save some money. good luck wish this was a quick fix problem if the tv has not been out of warranty long call the manufacturer they might still honor the part.
