Re: can not receive faxes
In your imaging studio open receive fax and check your settings. make sure it is set to receive. set to auto receive or you have to answer it manually. also remember that to receive a fax the software must be open.
this next is to make sure no software problem in communication.
check ( i'll assume xp) printers and faxes in control panel. right click fax. open properties and go to devices tab click properties. in the receive tab make sure receive fax is checked and your other setting are the same as in imaging studio.

or else go to Lexmark's web-site and either download the specific software for your printer.This is equivalent to the disk and will take awhile.First, call lexmarks 800 number for tech support and they can talk you through it...Lastly, you can wait for new disk to be shipped and have printer connected with best but limited drivers in meantime. however downloading the driver would be a much simpler option. Your particular Lexmark X3350 does not have a fax modem. You have a couple different options though, however I am not sure if the option in the software you are using will be ungreyed, but you will be able to send faxes.
One option is to purchase a modem at a computer store (usually they are around $15) and install it. If you want to take this route then I would first check to see if your computer has room for one or sometimes I have found people already have one, and its just not installed. If you would like to take this route, respond and I will make detailed instructions on how to install for you.
Another option is to pay for a service to send & receive faxes for you. This is common, because as technology continiously increases everything is becoming more and more digital and people are shifting away from using real paper all of the time. For instance I built a service for a company a few years ago where they could fax whatever papers they wanted by sending an email to my program with the telephone number as the subject of the email and whatever they wanted to fax as an attachment. If you are interested in this alternative let me know, and I will suggest some third party services for you.
I believe if you have comcast it is a different signal coming in, you probably bought the package for VOIP capability when Comcast was having that promotion. The phone has to be a regular analog phone line not digital, that is probably your problem. Try changing the settings or line it should solve your problem, or call Comcast to guide you along.
