After typing an incorrect password ten times and restarting the BlackBerry smartphone, the following error appears: JVM error 513

Yes, definitely you can still use the phone but it will be restored to it's Manufacturers settings.
Just enter the incorrect password x10 times and your Blackberry will be
wiped. Your personal data will be gone, but you can then enter a new
password and start again.
the 10th attempt, if you get the password wrong, it will have you type
in blackberry again and it will completely wipe your Blackberry of all
your personal data and it will reload itself back to factory default.
this is a security measure in case someone gets a hold of your
Blackberry and attempts to break in to get your personal information.
RIM Blackberry does NOT have your password, so unfortunately a RIM
tech support agent cannot retrieve your password.
have created a backup of your Data using the Desktop Manager, so if you
cannot remember your password and the device wipes itself, you can
restore your data from the backup with the Desktop Manager
I got this phone from one of my friend who was moving abroad. He was using airtel sim with. I inserted my vodaphone sim in it and phone got locked. i have tried using password "blackberry" but it says wrong password. I dont mind if data is lost cos its not my data. Please advice how to put this phone in use. Model- Blackberry curve 8900
To my knowledge there is no way to retrieve the password without going through the ten tries and then typing in blackberry, which will wipe everything and start it from scratch. If you are on a business blackberry network you can have your IT admin reset it remotely. Otherwise you will have to go through the wipe procedure. To do this, simply attempt the password 10 times and then the last time it will ask you to type blackberry, at which time it will wipe your handheld and you will be back to square one.
If it is a network unlock code you need to contact you're service provider.
if it is a keypad unlock code kindly enter wrong password for 10 time's your Handheld will get wiped off. Then it will ask for reset password, Enter the new password and remember that.
NOTE:- No data will be available when your Handheld is wiped off.
I'am sorry to tell you that you dont have any options apart from Wipeing the Handheld. To wipe the Handheld enter wrong password for 10 times Handheld will get wiped out and it will ask for Reset password you can enter the password and remember that without sharing with your boy friend.
Blackberry has given the keypad unlock code for security purpose if you dont remember your keypad unlock code. You need to enter wrong password for 10 times you're handheld will get wiped out you will lose all the data which is there in you handset, Then it will ask for the Reset password enter the new password and remember that.
This is a tough problem. I hoped you had a recent sync with your computer to save all your data. The best bet is to go Verizon Wireless and get the device wiped, or enter the password wrong 10 times. this will wipe the device as well. In my experience, I have not been able to get the device unlocked without the password.
