I would replace the TV, the problem is most likely the main PC board is shorted, the part and labor is close to the cost of new.

No power to tv when turned on

If there is no power at all, then it is either socket, power cord or PSU board. Check if the power plug is fused.

If the TV stays in standby, then it is protect mode. In that case the TV is forced to standby because an internal problem has been detected. PSU and other internal parts must be tested and repaired.

My samsung 32'' lcd tv

poke it open, you'll find bloated capacitors at power supply board. biggest one, with power cord pluged into. replace with thesame value(s).
you good to go!
don't lie, next time! your set has been acting up fpr a while, before it quit. Remembering: few attempts to turn it on, then it works!
good luck.

TV shuts off by itself

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

TV loses power

Sounds like it maybe a heating up issue? Do you have it in an enclosed space with very little ventilation? These models don't like heat.

I have the power cord dvd cords and cable cords plugged in and there is no picture the tv wont turn on it should turn on but it wont it wont even show that its off

Have you verified #1 that your outlet is putting out 120 VAC? Have to checked input power fuse inside chasis? What about a stuck power on switch? Unplug all access. except the TV and try powering it on.

TV Power

Mine did the same thing- At first. The power supply (which is an easily removed module in the back of the TV) was overheating, and so I took it out of the TV and placed a muffin fan in front of it, which worked great for about a year. Now the power supply burned out completely, so I am out shopping for one online...
