I had the same problem on my DU-42px12xc. Red, green , and blue lines vertically on the right side of the screen. I found a loose solder connection under the inputs board on a resistor. After re-soldering, everything was crystal. I'm happy I grabbed this tv before my work threw it out. Be very careful when soldering SMT components. Use proper equipment. I had to troubleshoot while the tv was on, so I was extremely careful not to short anything out.
I pulled the inputs board out to gain access to the "Y-axis" pins.
resistor located under the inputs
I started pushing on the resistors 'till the color lines started working correctly, and re-soldered the four resistors.

You may need to purchase a programming remote from LG/Zenith part # 6710V00108M. The user remote that comes with the TV doesn't have the MENU button. The manual also listed a programming/cloning box #LT200 by Zenith, I have a cloner box for RCA and it has a reset button on it. I had to download the manual for the same TV from www.retrevo.com they didn't have a listing for the LG but the Zenith has the same model # and is the same TV as far as I can tell. You may be able to access the menu using the menu button on the front of the TV if it is unlocked, the menu buttons on my LG's are locked and I can't figure out how to unlock them so I may have to purchase a programming remote and Zenith cloner box as well. Hope this helps.

Check within you area for a reliable LG repair center. To fix the problem of the blue, red or green vertical line you just need to replace the control board PN 6871QCH038C. The part cost about $150.00 and a honest repair center should not beat you up to bad on the labor. Good luck and Good viewing.

Check the controller board, 6871QCH038A. This board is one layer deep into the assembly after the cover is removed. Gently lift the covering circuit board back plane to access.
To do this direct a blast of cold air unto the large chip in the center of the board. If the picture comes back on then you have found it. This means powering the TV while open and this means danger to the novice. Voltage can end your life when you become the circuit path.
Order Part number 6871QCH060Q as the suitable replacement part to this circuit board.
