Question about RCA RTD300 DVD/VCR Home Theatre System System

1 Answer

I bought a ns-h2002b home theatre from Best Buy- the system had an open box and was sold to me at a bargain price. The system works fine as far as I could tell- there wasn't any instruction/operation manual with the system. Where could I get one?

I need the remote code for an Insignia NS-H2002B

Review your universal remote control user manual for available codes. If there are none, try those for Sherwood. If you still get no result, try your universal's scan feature to find a code.

No surrond sound

TV's are not sources of multichannel audio. The best you'll get is stereo analog. Get the best TV-related audio from the same source the TV gets it - in this case the Cable Box.

AWM6100 is it worth buying a 5yr old machine

Hello, The simple answer is yes, provided the price is a bargain and the machine doesn't have any existing issues and it runs properly.

I'd check the functions at the current owners location and make sure all the features work as they should. Also, good to know why they're selling it (unless it's a moving issue, etc.)

I'd also check the front door gasket for any signs of tears or cuts and see it the wash tub is undamaged, etc. Give the door (bellows) gasket a run around with your hand to see if there's any signs of mold, or damage within the folds of the gasket.

I once bought a old top-loading washer and front load dryer that were already 10 years old. I used them for another 8 years and sold them to a friend who kept them for 5 years and they sold them. So the real question is, are you getting a very good deal and is the washer in a "like new" condition.

Not all appliances are well taken care of, but for the right price, you can buy a quality used appliance and cover any unexpected repairs and still be far ahead of what you'd expect to spend to buy them brand new.

My rule of thumb is that I wouldn't expect to pay more than 40% (or less) of the price of the appliance when it was new, remembering that no one pays the MSRP price (suggested retail price) for then to begin with.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

No surround sound through tv

May be you have to set the Pro-logic option soundfield, this will matrix a 5.1 surround sound effect, unless of course you are sending a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio signal from your TV broadcast into the Home theatre system, also have to check the TV audio output to send audio output to a Home theatre system in other than 2 channel stereo.

Need help hooking up TV, BluRay, Home Theatre & cable box

I found that since the Panasonic TH50PZ80U TV has only 2 HDMI ports on the back of the TV, the best solution for me was to use component (red, blue, green) cables to connect the Home Theatre to the TV. I suppose I/you could connect the home theatre to the HDMI port on the front panel, but I don't want cables hanging out the front of the TV (personal preference). Unfortunately, I am no longer able to use the VIERA Link functionality available by connecting all Panasonic components to each other using HDMI cables, but I feel it's a small price to pay for the incredible picture quality acheived by using the HDMI cable to connect the HD Cable Box to the TV. I may yet be able to control everything using the HD Cable Box remote, but I haven't gotten that far yet but I've got Comcast coming on Saturday and hopefully they can let me know if this is possible: let me know if you have a solution.

So here are the components and the cable types used to connect:
  1. HD Cable Box to TV: HDMI cable & Optical Audio cable
  2. Home Theatre to TV: Red, Blue & Green component cables
  3. BluRay Player to TV: HDMI cable
I hope this helps someone else.

Insignia model NS-DXA1 digital converter box

I have heard alot of people having the same type of problem with booth the insigna and the Magnavox boxes. Check the warranty that came with the unit and and call the 1800 number, they may be covering the unit for more then three months. Insigna is the Best Buy brand thus thus if calling the maker of the box (LG) doesn't get it fixed, speak to the store manager. He can exchange the unit if he wants to because Insigna is the store brand. Call Best Buy and complain and complain unit they take back the defective unit.
