Question about Panasonic KX T7436B Corded Phone

1 Answer

KX T7436B Hi, I have accidentially removed 2 of our outside lines from the CO buttons. We originally have 3 lines. I can now only see one of the lines ringing and not the other 2 that I deleted. Can I restore the original settings or do I have to hunt down our manual for our phone system. I know that we haven't been able to get the manuals previously!!!

    Hi there,

Unfortunately when I go and reprogram line 1, nothing is happening.

As for line 3, it is registering as line 2. How do I reset line 1 and 3 to reprogram it for the correct lines.

My exisiting CO lines should say CO 01, CO 02 and CO 03

  • vanessarose Sep 22, 2008

Yes, we currently have 4 other phones that are working correctly. CO1 is displaying Not stored and CO3 is showing CO2. How do I undo CO3?

  • vanessarose Sep 22, 2008

problem, when I go to program CO3 the following happens

Prog - CO-3 (nothing happens) ie. CO3 doesn't say anything

I know you are offering suggestions but they are not helping me.

    Any more suggestions ???

  • vanessarose Sep 22, 2008

    ok, here we go again,

On the good working phones I was able to get the following information

    Our outside lines say

    CO-1, CO-2 and CO-3 that's it

    Any suggestions ???

  • vanessarose Sep 22, 2008

Firstly, when I press PROG and the button for CO1 and dial 0 - I get 3 beeps (error tone) and the message program remains on the screen. I don't even get the CO1 or CO3 displayed when I hit the relevant buttons.

    help !!!

  • vanessarose Sep 22, 2008

    hi there,

The problem lies in my phone line. I have been able to relocate my phone and use it on a working workstation, however, using someone else's phone on my phone line is the same result as before.

At least I know that my phone is a worker but my system is not !!!

I really don't know what phone system we have. The main unit is located in another building where we don't have access to it.

    help is still needed !!!

  • vanessarose Sep 22, 2008

    No luck again !!!

Can you tell me, if I press Prog, 99, CO (the outside line), 2, - what am I programming my CO to register my outstide lines.

Originally, I used the Storing numbers for one-touch dialling and accidentially removed CO1 and CO3 - hence the problems that I have now.

  • vanessarose Sep 22, 2008

    You are soo wonderful....

    You have fixed the problem.

I now have an operational phone that has 3 lines !!!

    Thank you soo much !!!

  • vanessarose Sep 23, 2008

Hi there, it's me again !!!

Can you tell me how I can set the phone up to redirect incoming calls when I am already on the line. I get the call waiting tones on my line when I am talking to clients.

Also our receptionist use to get our main line CO-01 come into her first, now it comes into our office.

Help me once again please !!!

Lucky for you. You don't need a manual for this one.

Go to any phone that works and press PROG and the buttons for the missing lines. Write down what they are...or you can skip that step eitirely.

Press PROG the button you want, dial 0 and the CO number (ie 001,002,etc) then ENTER. Press the next button and dial 0+002,003 etc) and ENTER.

Finish by pressing PROG

The buttons reassign according to the last function pressed. If you assign button 1 as CO2 and button 3 as CO2, button one will go to "Not Stored".

Do you have any other phones where line 1 works?

    Carl Navarro Sep 22, 2008

You don't....just store 003 under the button. PROG CO3 0-003 ENTER

    Carl Navarro Sep 22, 2008

O.K. Please start with one of the phones that works. Press PROG and step through the buttons and write down what they say. For example, my buttons say "Single Line-001" Single Line-002" "Single Line-003" and "Single Line-004" from bottom to top.

They were programmed with PROG button 0-001 store button 0-002 Store button 0-003 store and button 0-004 store from bottom to top.

It doesn't matter if they say nothing when you first push it, but when you press 0 it will say "Single Line".

How very odd. You have a TDA and I have a TDA and my buttons are programmed and I can change them. When you press PROG the button for CO1 and dial 0 what does your display say.

In fact, if you press PROG a button and press SP PHONE, the display will start showing other options. When you first dial 0 it will say Single Line. The buttons are there, the CO lines are number 1 2 and 3 and, in fact, you don't have to dial 00 just 1, 2 and 3. I can't believe you can't do your own programming because there is no locking out of personal programming on a phone.

You said before you got 3 beeps (error tone) when you went to store the number. What was the display saying at the time?

Take the phone and move it to another location. Try your oringinal phone somewhere else and see if you can read the buttons. Then put another phone in your extension.and try to program.

In my wildest dreams, I can't duplicate your trouble. Even dial restrisction by locking out the station lets me reprogram the buttons.

What system do you have? Is it a 30, 50, 100 or 200? Do you have any idea what softwrae revision?

  • Carl Navarro
    Carl Navarro Sep 22, 2008

Try Program 00. The display will tell you what extension you are and give you some hardware numbers. In mine, ext 103 is hardware 10501 for first cabinet, slot 5 port 1. Maybe we can figure out where your extension is.

Do you have access to ext 101?

  • Carl Navarro
    Carl Navarro Sep 22, 2008

OMG PROG 99 button 0 01 STORE do the same for 2 and 3.

2 is a conversion of a lit button to speed dial. That number would include 2 9 Plus the outside number or 2 xxx for an inside feature.

Your system is probably a TD not a TDA. What was I thinking?

  • Carl Navarro
    Carl Navarro Sep 24, 2008

I can do one, but not th eother. Remember that other building where the phone system is? Ringing is set (normally) from the phone at extension 101. System program 603 and 604 control the delayed ringing. It's set for 1,3 or 6 rings delay none or immediate.

Call waiting is a numeric feature for both intercom and outside calls. IIRC on a TD system you either have it or you don't. (Other systems have 2 codes to let you set one or both CW modes).

    The codes are:

There are two other modes (2 & 3) that allow Off Hook Call Announce that I can never remember anybody using and only work on digital phones or specific PT's with special wiring.

Panasonic KX-T7730, we have a 824 phone system and cordless handsets (kx-tg1711) we cannot make outgoing calls on these handests but can take incoming calls and can transfer calls. how do we programme

  • Locate the program and auto-store button on your telephone. You will be using these to customize many of the features on your KX-T7730. The program button is used to enter or exit programming.

  • 2

Program your outgoing line preference, i.e., the line you prefer to seize when you go off hook. Press "Program" "1" "1" "store" for no line. Press "Program" "1" "2" "Store" for an idle outside line. Press "Program" "1" "3" "Outside Line Number" "Store" for an assigned outside line. The outside line number will be a single or double-digit number that is set through your phone system.

  • 3

Program your incoming line preference, i.e., the line you prefer to answer when you go off hook. Press "Program" "2" "1 "Store" for no line. Press "Program "2" "2" "Store" for ringing line. Press "Program" "3" "Outside Line Number" "Store" for an assigned outside line.

  • 4

Program your flexible CO buttons. These are the inner row of 12 lighted buttons. Your outside lines need to be programmed to these--you can choose any of these 12 buttons in any order. Press "Program" "CO Button" "0" "Outside Line Number" "Store." The outside line number will be a single or double-digit number that is set through your phone system.

  • 5

Program any other unused flexible CO buttons for an extension number or any frequently dialed phone number. Press "Program" "CO button" "1" "Extension Number" "Store" or "Program" "CO Button" "2" "9 + Phone Number" "Store". A "9" must be entered at the beginning of a phone number to tell your phone system to seize an outside line before dialing, e.g., "9-1-212-555-1234."

  • 6

Locate the programmable feature buttons (the row of 12 solid buttons on the right). These buttons are basically one-touch buttons that can be set for extension numbers or phone numbers. Press "Program" "(PF) Button" "Extension Number" "Store" or "Program" "(PF) Button" "9 + Phone Number" "Store." Remember to press "Program" again to exit programming.

  • 7

Locate your "FWD/DND" button. This button is used for setting "Call Forward" or "Do Not Disturb" on your telephone. To set call forwarding, go "off-hook" either by lifting the receiver or pressing speakerphone. Make sure you go to intercom and not an outside line. To forward all calls, go off-hook, press "FWD/DND" "1" "extension number" (the extension number that you wish to forward all your calls to) "#". After you hear a confirmation tone, place the receiver on-hook. The steps to set call forwarding for busy/no answer are the same as above, except you will press "2" in place of "1". To cancel call forwarding, press "0" in place of "1".

  • 8

Program "Do Not Disturb," which stops your phone from ringing--any callers will just hear a DND tone. To program, go off-hook, press "Program" "4" "#" on-hook, to set. Press "0" instead of "4" to cancel.

  • 9

Locate the message button--this works in coordination with your message light at the top right of your telephone. If the light is lit, press "message" to hear a message left to you either by another extension or a voice mail system. The message button can only be programmed as a message or one-touch button. To program as a message, press "Program" "Message" "3" "Store." To program as a one-touch, press "Program" "Message" "1" "Extension Number" or "Program" "Message: "2" "9 + phone number."

  • 10

Return your KX-T7730 to its default settings by pressing "Program" "#" "*" "Store."

Hi , i have a problem with my KX-T7730 : in brief , when i press the line access code which is the " 9 key" , it gives me wrong CO . so i want to change the program and set it to my desire CO...

So many options. Why are you dialing "9" for an outside line? You can just press a button assigned to the line you want.
Since a 7730 works on up to 18 different Pana systems, there's no telling what you have, but you can assign a specific line to a button, a group to a button, program the system to not pick vacant lines, or dial the direct line 8x or 8xx access code. There's an outside chance that ARS (automatic route selection) is enabled and the "9" doesn't even give you an outside line in the first place.

    Which is yours?

Panasonic kx-t7630. PABX lines have been reducede from 5 to 3. how can re assign CO buttons? now line 2 and 5 are no more in use, but still show as free. And if I press usual 9 to get outside line it...

If you know how to do system programming, the best thing to do is to move the lines into the first 3 positions on the cabinet and go into system program 600 and reduce the lines to 3. Your system installer or manager may be able to do the programming in less than 30 minutes.

So that we're on the same page, a 7730 has PF bottons on the right and "CO" buttons on the left. If you have a different phone, like a TA-308xx or a Euro phone that isn't offered in the U.S., then it may only have a single row of buttons.

Programming is the same. If the button is a CO button (with a light), then your one touch requres a "2" in front of it to speed dial a nunber and a "9" or outside line access code to dial an outside number. So, to call 212-555-1212 you press PROGRAM the CO button, 292125551212 STORE. An inside number is stored under the CO button with a "1" plus the extension number.

A PF button already has the assumed "2", so you would just dial 92125551212 in the example above.
