This error has been identified , and verified by myself when I first got it after playing BF4 the first few days it was out and got the message during the loading screen, to be an internal storage issue rather than any sort of connection problem. Most fast fixes recommend backing up your games, saves, etc. and formatting the HDD to original state to clear what is basically 'read-only' tagged info that is usually newer content or from an external source lke camera's, mp3,etc. How this content got set to a state where it can't be deleted individual is anybody's guess, but mine was the BF4 save data that caused it. I realized this when I popped in BF3 and loaded fine into campaign saved data as well as multiplayer matches with all custom options intact as well as playing a free to play MMO Dust with no issues or lost data. Glas I had only been playing for a couple days and didn't lose much other than level1-2 of the campaign. Strangely enough, the load-outs, server filters, etc. that are stored on EA's external servers remained as I had set them, but the local info (I.e. save data) was corrupt leaving the main options of controller, audio, video, etc. were set to default each time I played the game and reverted to the initial movie cut screen on the campaign mode. What is weird is that it would let me save and continue flawlessly until I turned of the PS3 and then it reared it's ugly head. Hope this helps and you are able to save most of your stuff seing as how it seems to be only from one source, folder, etc. that causes the problem.

SOURCE: ps3 error

My guess would have to be a hard drive malfunction. But Sony has a few things to try out. Here is the link to the page with possible solutions for any code starting with 800.

When loading Fifa 11, a message comes up " an error has occured (80030001) it will let me go no further. What should I do?

Hi.

As far as I know this error has something to do with the database being corrupt. You need to rebuild the database.
To do this you need to turn off the PS3 so you see the red light. Flick the switch on the back off then on, then hold down the start button untill you hear three beeps then let go. Do the same again and the third beep will be followed by another one straight after the third.
On the screen there should be some options to choose from. Pick number four (rebuild database) this should fix the problem.
Also make sure that the PS3 is fully up to date by checking for any updates.
If the problem persists then I would advise you to contact Sony.

Good luck.

The description of this error is that your PS3 encountered an error which may have been caused by either a lack of enough memory or system file corruption.
Please try
1. Rebooting your PS3 to see if you receive the error code again
2. If you receive this error again, enter safe mode and select "Restore File System" - To learn how to put your PS3 into safe mode, please go to http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/index.htm?a_id=1488
3. If you continue to have issues, enter Safe Mode and select "Restore PS3 System". Playstation 3 error 80030001

It sounds like you are losing your connection to either your router or ISP. You can try to disable the media server in Network Settings and also disabling the Info Bar on the PS3. Try again.
If problem persists, and you own a router...login to the router settings and disable UPNP, put your PS3 in the DMZ or google port forwarding on the ps3 and follow the steps for your router.
Good Luck!
