Send URC number from inside the remote control battery cover, with the brand name of the remote. Most manuals and codes can be found at http://www.remotes.com/ if they're original equipment. One for all is probably a universal, but they share links to them also. That also includes if your remote is compatible to the DVD. If not compatible, try a Samsung DVD code.

Hi All,
I have a Murphy C1999FIPOD Combi TV/DVD with no remote control, so I bought a one-for-all control from Asda, but all codes listed do not work - can anyone help please????

Unfortunately, Samsung tech support was accurate. Most universal remotes (and the portion of the remote programming to control other devices is the same program) only have codes for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed.

However, any universal remote that is newer than the TV (by that 6 month programming period) should control both devices. Low end universal remotes may not support all of the features of either the TV or the Blu-ray player. The remotes that can be programmed via a USB connection to a computer are the fastest to set up. (Alternatives: You can use both remotes when watching a movie or get a Viera link Blu-ray player that is compatible with the TV. For the second option, you need a device with the HDAVI Control (not above Control 5) connected via a good HDMI cable)

Set up by Automatic Search

1. Turn TV on
2. Point the remote at tv and Hold SET and TV buttons at the same time and keep pressed for 3 seconds.
3. The LED flashes and the remote control starts the automatic search.
4.The OFF signal is automatically sent to the tv from the remote control.
5. Once the TV switches off press any button except SET to stop auto search.
6. Switch your tv on using the POWER button.

i bought a ross remote control from asda, it doesn'twork with ANY of the appliances in my house! DONT BUY A ROSS!!!

just will not switch on - checked everything, no light coming on.
