Have you tried installing the proper driver for your webcam? You might have got a cd along with it when you brought it. Insert this cd into your pc and connect the webcam. If its not detecting the webcam, just restart your system without removing the webcam. If detection still does not occur, check the connection and make sure you have connected it right. after the found new hardware, click it and select automatically search for drivers, which will search the driver in your system and will be installed from the cd. I hope this fixes your problem.
Ok it isn't unusual for a CD ROM or DVD ROM to not recognize a CD or DVD insert to it..Ok try this clean the lenses of your ROM using a CD or DVD cleaner disc if you have also try to wept your cd software with a clean dry soft cloth or cotton..If this will not work perhaps you need a new installation cd for your webcam.
hello... problem with your webcam on your HP laptor...
ok first go to (setting) + (control panel) + (system) + (hardware) then (device manager) see if you dont have any missing drivers for your webcam... you will see a yellow tag on the colom, if yes... you may have to re-install your webcam drivers, insert your re-covery cd and re-install the missing driver also check in add & remove see if your webcam software is there
i'm sure your webcam driver is not compatible with vista..try download that driver for vista in hp support n driver website n install by using vista only...don't use same driver for windows xp when u installing your webcam into vista
When you installed the drivers, did you do so after loggin in as ADMINISTRATOR?? This is vital otherwise it will not work. Also a quote from the manual goes like this quote -"Exit the “Found New Hardware Wizard” by hitting the cancel button. Unplug the VGA webcam from the USB. Insert the software CD into the drive tray. Follow the software installation instructions. Once all software is installed (direct X, HP Web Cam drivers, ArcSoft VideoImpression, ArcSoft Photo Impression), close the HP Webcam window and RESTART the PC. After restarting the PC, plug in the VGA Webcam and run ArcSoft Video Impression to capture a new video." unquote. Hope this helps..................sodeep
