If the power supply board error problem
Yes it is repairable,it seems the problem is loose connection or crack or cold solder joint,due too old already it needs to re works or resolder the solder joint so it will works better again.Its better you bring it to a electronic repair shop,maybe they will cost you ranging to $50 - $75.

Part of the circuit is a stereo multiplexer decoder, that decodes the fm stereo signal, I guess that is what you mean when you talk about capacitor linked to the fm band.
I do not have the sbchematics for this circuit, if you are good at electonics just grab the tester and check the whole circuit. On a radio is not difficult to find a blown capacitor.
Test also the stereo/mono switch.
