You can check the oil on both sides. one side should have a dipstick. normally just fill it up all the way. you say oil is in the carb. spray some starter fluid in carb. and make sure air filter is clean. try to crank it and see if it will start. let me know if this took care of problem

The generator hasn't, been used in a while and is not cranking. Gas is getting to the spark plug and the plug is clean. What could be the issue?

I am looking for an owners manual for a Coleman Powermate generator model PMO645250

Powermate doesn't have an owners manual listed for the PM0645250 on their website.

Since wintertime is a good candidate for power failures I would recommend using a good synthetic 5w-30 oil as it is a good year around oil. This would make starting much easier during the cold weather

Older Coleman 3500 Watt generator, sitting for over 2 years. engine starts and runs normally, but no power generated.

there can be many reasons. need more info:
Is it Inverter typr generator?

measure output voltage - anything?
take back cover off generator itself, measure continuity of stator and rotor, and visually inspect windings. You'll find AVR module there too, it may be the reason.

Have a coleman powermate 5000. Won't start. Laid

this model has one fuel shut ff switch it's on the tank.if it's turned on then fuel is reaching the carb.
you should check oil level, and check if there is any spark in it.

Coleman powermate 3750 wont start

Check your oil level and add a little if it's low. Don't overfill. Also, make sure the unit is level. You may want to change the spark plug. Depending on the hours you've used it or the length of time since you've used it may have taken a toll on the plug.
Beyond that, have a professional look at it.
Good luck!

Coleman powermate pm0545305 10hp brigg & stratton

go ahead and feel the oil resevior full . it will not hurt it. if you really want to find out if it is firing. if you are tough enough, put your finger on the spark plug and barely pull pull cord. you will definitely know if you are getting fire. it does kinda hurt though.....ouch!

if it is getting fire, then make sure gas is good. you may have to remove the carb bowl. the carb float may be sticking and the float pin. if this is the case, you may want to spray them with carb cleaner. if you know how to remove the carburator. you could soak the whole carb in carb cleaner. let me know how this works.
