I have a syncmaster220 wm monitor and it dosen't power up. I have had it for 7 months and just yesterday it was operating ok. I unhooked it from the desktop computer and hooked it up to my laptop with the power cable plugged directly into the wall. Still no response. Should I take it back to the vendor for a replacement?

Hi I am mervin and this is the only thing that i can tell you 
The power board on the inside is broken and yes it happens. This is a common problem with the samsung range I receive 9 to 15 monitors a week with this problem, the best is to take it back to the store and have it send for repairs remember that you still have a 1 year warranty on the unit it will take 2-3 weeks to get it repaired or faster if the repairer is fast

When you tried it in your laptop.. did you use the function keys to try to get image on your monitor?
check your laptop documentation it shoud tell you how you can get the image in another monitor or get to show on both, your laptop lcd screen and your monitor or on only on your monitor. if you did try that as per your laptop documentation... you may want to read up on your monitors warranty.. you're within the year so should be ok.. get the receipts of your purchase ready.

From yesterday i have been getting this streak flash type of line on the bottom of my screen ....being display in every 2 secs ...green or white in color l though its not hampering the operation of the...


Hello:
Your most likely cause to the color flash on your screen is a bad LCD panel. One way to troubleshoot this is to hook an externa monitor up to your laptop, and observe the display on the external monitor. If it is ok, then your LCD is the cause. If you still experience the flash, you could have a motherboard video problem, but unlikely.
There is no easy fix to get rid of the flashing line. If your laptop is still under warranty, or even close, I would contact HP /Compaq customer support and explain your laptop's problem.

I have a L227WTG and it will noit turn on, power button just keeps flashing and will not tuirn on the monitor. Help?


Unhook the monitor from the pc. Then go ahead and turn on the monitor. If the same thing happens then its an issue with the monitor and the monitor would have to be replaced. If the monitor turns on after unhooking it from the pc then its an issue with the pc.

Just hooked up my pc yesterday worked fine. I shut down by going to start & turn off computor. Came back later to start back up. Monitor tells me in power safe mode. Tower doesn't seem to be starting...

You can try removing external devices like (ex. usb printer, external Hard drive) and try to start the computer again. And see if there are lights on the tower

The power button is violet, the monitor won't work


robyn_e_fox, Here is what I would try to do first if my 12 to 15 month old LCD monitor started doing STRANGE things!! If possible try to substitute a KNOWN GOOD monitor in it's place to make certain that your PC is working properly. If PC is OK then you know or are pretty sure that your LCD could be having an internal problem that a technician will need to diagnose and repair. Before paying for ANY repair you should contact the monitor manufacturer and complain about the short life and PREMATURE FAILURE of this LCD. Check to see if they also have a swap-out program in place. And last but not least check with the store where you originally purchased the LCD on what you should do. After unhooking Dell monitor, can't get it to work again.


hELLO THERE:
You shouldnt have to hook both of them up.
turn off the computer and monitor unplug. the power cord to the power supply. leave the monitor hooked to the computer
remove the side panel on the left side of the computer.
look and find the wiring harness from the powersupply to the motherboard and remove it now press the power button on the computer for 1 minute this releasess any (esd) or Electronic Static Discharge. that may have built up over time.
wait for 3 minutes
during this time this will be a good time to blow out any dirt or debris that may be in the inside of the computere
now reinstall the wire harness back to the motherboard and connect everything back up and turn on the computer and then the monitor and see what happnes you should be ok after this ok?

Monitor won't turn on but power going to transformer


I can't speak for that brands whole line of monitors but I can tell you that there are several capacitors on the power supply board which have dried out. Eventually it will not come back on. Take the monitor to a reputable electronics repair service, they should be able to repair it.
