Try putting the phone back on the main base of the phone system so the base can register it to itself again.

I get a message hand-set not in range. No charge light. Hook up appears OK. Second home phone works properly. Prior to problem I tried to dial a local no. but entered 8 nos. Phone says searching or...

Dialing the 8 numbers should not cause a problem.I have a few suggestions, you may have tried a couple already.Hang up the problem phone on the base unit for about 30 seconds. If that does not help, remove the battery for a few seconds and try the 30 second hang up again.Try unplugging the base unit for a half minute.I am trying to get it to reset itself and link to the base.Is the second phone part of this system too?We had a Uniden and I personally thought it ended up being garbage and will probably never buy another one.If you end up deciding to buy a new phone, the new technology is DECT 6.0 and is supposed to have better range from the base, clearer sound to name a few things. The strange thing about it is that it operates at 1.9 GHz.Also,if you decide on a new one, google DECT phones. There are all kinds of forums about peoples opinions/ratings of ones they have bought and used for a period of time.If you have any questions, just comment on this post and I will get an auto email saying you posted.Good luck! NEW UNIDEN DECT6.0 [CHRISTMAS GIFT] WATERPROOF, WON'T CHARGE,CHARGER LIGHT COMES ON.CHARGER MAKES POPPING SOUND EVERY FEW SECONDS

I am guessing you have a DECT WXI2077, If there is a popping sound coming from the charger I would disconnect it. You can call Uniden Customer Service at 1800 297-1023 and they will send you a new charger if you have a receipt showing the phone was purchased less then a year ago.

I recently had a fan installed in a small bathroom (5x8). The mirror and windows still fog up even when I take a brief shower. A few minutes after the water stops running, the moisture does seem to clear...

On the assumption that your bathroom is 8 ft high, then the volume of air in the bathroom is 5x8x8 or 320 cu ft. Even if your fan is 80 cfm it would take 4 minutes to completely exchange the air. Leaving the door slightly ajar would assist.
To overcome a similar problem, I installed a second fan with a push button 10 minute timer so the fan runs for a few minutes after I leave the bathroom.

No dial tone on Uniden Dect 6.0 land line and portable phone

We've had the same problem with our new Uniden phone. Sounds like someone's on the other line - no dial tone and answering machine doesn't work. The telephone line works though because we plugged our old phone in and it works fine. Any solutions anyone?

This sounds like the register-deregister problem elsewhere on this page. Try holding down the "end" and "#" buttons for about 6 seconds to deregister the phones and then reregister them. I had this problem too and it worked for me.
