How do I remove the stereo from my 2007 Sport Trac?

  1. Lift the console lid.
  2. Take the two screws out from the front console cover. It is the cover that goes down around the shifter.
  3. Remove the cover by pulling up from the back.
  4. Next pull the front cover off from around the radio. This cover goes all the way down to the center console.
  5. Unlug all connections.
  6. Take the 4 screws out from around the radio that hold it in.
To install just repeat the steps in reverse.

The belt is skipping. We lubed it but the problem continues as if it may be a gear slipping. Where do we contact someone who can look at it directly?

Remove the motor cover. 2manyhobbies_1.jpgRun the treadmill and observe the operation. Try walking on the machine and again observe the operation.
There could be 1 of 3 things causing your problem.
1) the motor drive belt may be loose. Tighten or replace the motor belt.
2) the pulley may have broken free from the front roller. Drill a small hole through the pulley into the metal roller on the backside of the pulley, and drive a screw into it. (see picture).
2) the walking belt is too loose. Adjust the walking belt by the rear roller adjustment bolts.
I have also seen the drive pulley come loose from the motor, but that is very rare and unlikely..
If you need someone to service the machine, on the model/serial number tag is a phone number to the manufacturer. They will direct you to the authorized service company in your area.

Belt runs with hesitation. stops during rotation and starts again. like it's slipping

If it does this while you are exercising it is one of two problems. First make sure that the walk belt is adjusted correctly( you should be able to pick up the outer edge of belt about 1.5 inches), if the belt is tight enough, then remove the front cover ( 3 screws at fron and 2 or 3 under), start the treadmill with cover off and watch as you walk, see if the drive belt(small one going from motor to front roller),is still turning after you try to STOP the walk belt with your feet. If the drive belt still turns, see if the front roller stops but the drive pully (other end of drive belt)still turns. If so you need a front drive roller assy. Od if the belt(drive) quits while the motor stays running, adjust the motor, or replace the drive belt.

We have a Proform Sport 1000 treadmill which when you get on it the belt slips badly and it hardly moves. The belt doesn't seem loose so is the motor failing?

There is a belt between the front roller and the motor (drive belt) that is under the motor hood. The trick is to watch the front roller when you get on the walking belt. If the front roller stops with the walking belt, then the drive belt is loose and needs to be replaced or tightened. If you have already adjusted the walking belt, and you can hear the motor, it's the drive belt. There will be 3 screw on the front of the machine, and a couple of screws under the main frame. Tip the unit over to find the screws, and take off the cover. You'll be able to see where the slip is.

My treadmill belt keeps slipping when i put my weight on it. It is second hand with no manuel,I have had it 6 months and it only started slipping this last 7 days.

more than likely the drive belt needs to be tightened. This is done by removing the lower cover. Should be 2 screws in the rear and 2 screws on the bottom to remove it. Then there is an adjustable bracket on the motor. Hope this helps, Tim

After a few minutes of using the machine, the mat seems to get stuck and makes some sueaking sounds. What could be wrong and can we fix it ourselves.

Your drive belt is loose and yes you can fix this yourselves. Remove the belly (lower) cover. 2 screws in the rear and 2 on the bottom of the machine. When the cover is removed you will see the drive motor. There is a bracket holding the motor which is adjustable. Loosen the bolts and adjust the motor. Fyi it is usually easier to adjust the motor with the belt off of the front roller and then work the belt back on after moving the bracket slightly. Good Luck, Tim
