Hello,

A flashing power light indicates a failure of the power supply, this will also cause the white screen. Here is a link to a page showing what parts need to be replaced to repair the power supply board and get your monitor back running again.

My moitor fpd1975w blinks blue power button and a white screen but does not turn on ?

The blinking power light is a good indication of a failed power supply board and the white screen backs that diagnosis up. Here is a link to information show what to look for and replace on the power supply board to get the monitor back up and running again. The repair involves replacing parts called capacitors on the power supply board and can be done in less than 20 minutes once you have the parts needed.

This is the strangest thing I've ever seen. I have a Gateway FPD1975W TFT Monitor and its always worked great. The other day it went into a sleep mode via windows, and now it wont boot up the input...

Hello,

Your monitor problem is causes by the power supply. What is happening is the power supply voltages are not stable, just enough to power the unit up. When you connect it to a video signal the power demands slightly increase and the power supply can't handle it. This is a very common problem with LCD after a few years of use. The issue with the power supply is the capacitors have started to fail. These parts are used to filter the output voltage and when they start to fail the outputs start rippling hence the problem you are having. Here is a link to a repair article that shows how to repair the Gateway FPD1975W monitor.

When i plug in my Gateway FPD1975W TFT LCD Monitor, the screen stays black and the power button blinks. This goes on for hours without doing anything else. Suggestions?

If you have this connected to a computer and it happens, make sure the fault is not with the graphics card or port first. Test the monitor on another computer or laptop. Test and check the VGA cable.
If this is not the problem (ie the monitor will not work on another computer and another monitor will work on your computer), you are probebly having power capacitor problems and the monitor needs replacing.

I have a Gateway FPD1975W TFT LCD Monitor and the power button is blinking blue. The computer is on but no picture. Need assistance

Hello, it may not be the monitor. It could be that the pc is not talking to it. To check this try another monitor. If it doesnt work on that one,its the computer thats faulty, usually the video card. If however it does work, you have a faulty monitor. They can be fixed or replaced. Or you could try your monitor on another pc, either way you will find out for sure. I hope I have helped.

I have a FPD1975W tft LCD monitor and the screen will blink on but then shut off. the power button still shows on though. i've checked all connections and did a cleaning as well but cant get the monitor...

The description points to the inverter board which energizes the back lights behind the screen, and is on the verge of failure. The cause is usually bad capacitors, the board will need to be replaced or a attempt to repair the existing one. If a professional gets involved the parts and labor can run high.

Restart the PC and get into SAFE MODE. Hit and release F8 many times right after turning on PC. If it works, then go into your video setting and either change the settings or remove the video driver. Restart the PC and you'll get 800X600 screen, then reinstall the video drivers. IF it won't go above 800X600, screen internals are bad, LCD toasted. I've seen that happen with LCDs and older monitors.
