Re: system cannot play sound
Then go to control panel, system ,hardware ,device manager option There if u find any question mark or exclamation mark in yellow Color that means sound drivers are not installed properly please reinstall sound drivers properly
If no question mark or exclamation mark then check the cable connections of the speaker to the machine
In control panel , select sound audio devices open it there u have volume, sounds, audio, voice, hardware options
1)See whether it is mute 2)In audio option select default audio device and recording device should be same
this should solve u r problem .if it is not solved please let me know u r problem briefly
or else put the model number and brand name followed by drivers search in ww.google.com

first u need to check that system sounds comes from your external speakers or internal speaker inside your cup box.if it comes from internal speaker then u need to install your sound driver . which is on the cd that came with your pc when u purchased it our u can download it from your system manufacturer's website if u have model number of your pc
It may be cause of some problems, at first you should find that what's the source of this problem,so I suggest you some ways:
1. Plug in other speakers to your pc, if it works so the source of problem comes from your speakers and you should fix it, and if it doesn't work, too, it means that your PC and your Sound Card has a problem.
2. If source of problem comes from your PC, be sure that you installed your sound card driver.
3. After you installing sound driver, maybe the problem will terminate! if not, I suggest you reinstall your OS.
Note: You could find your sound card driver by a simple search through Google or Yahoo and find your driver.
Actually the problem is incorrect installation of Drivers.........so firstly uninstall the drivers from ur CONTROL PANEL and re-install it once again...........if the problem is same, then re-install the XP operating system sp2 with different CD serial and then drivers..... CAUTION: see thst there is no virus exists in ur HARD DISK.......
click on start at the bottom of the screen then scroll up to my computer right click it thenscroll down to properties click it then click hardware then device manager, then there should be a yellow question mark beside the drivers that need installed just right click the driver and click update then follow the instructions from there, try that
Try to uninstall the Audio driver in your system and restart the system.after restarting install the correct driver for your audio. if this not work maybe there some loss cable connection to your speaker. try to check the system speaker maybe set to "mute". you can double click the volume speaker at the "taskbar" . not see in the taskbar you can go to control panel and click "sounds, speech and audio devices" then click "sounds and audio devices" uncheck the mute box opposite and apply.
