The cables connected internally to the scanner unit had gone short some where in between you have to check it manually by opening the device .and then remove the cables and replace them with a same length cable.you can get the cables from any electronic shop who keeps printer assessories.and then it will work properly as normal.

Hello, I have a Canon MP810 printer and the screen shows there is an error with that number: 5020. It says that I have to unlock the locker of the scanner and then restart. I have done it many times...

I have just read it on the other forum..try this one
Error Code 5020:
Scanner lock switch locked. [5020] Release the scanner lock switch and turn the power
off and back on.
Turn the machine off, unlock the scanner lock
switch, then turn the machine on again.

Hope it helps.

My hp laserjet 3330mfp reports a scanner bulb is warming up and it never goes off. I have tried to unplug then plug back in. The printer works fine.

Here is how to cold reset the machine. also I added some addtiona options below as well.

1 Unplug (or turn off) the product from the power source.
2 Press and hold down the * and menu/enter keys.
3 Continue to hold down the keys while you plug back in (or turn on) the product, through the entire power on sequence.
4 When the control panel display reads Permanent Storage Init. release the keys.
5 Allow the product to return to Ready before using the product.

If that doesn't work it can be a power related issue,
- Make sure it's NOT plugged in to a surge protector.-
- Try a different outlet on the wall.
if theses steps fail you will most likely have to replace the scanner assembly

Another Option you can try as well :
Also I found this on a HP forum NOT SURE IF IT ACTUALLY WILL WORK:
" Scanner Bulb Walkout - Unplug the power from the unit, plug the power back in wait until the unit reads "Scanner Bulb Warming Up" Unplug the unit. Repeat this step 5 times.
This should move the scanner assembly back to its home position.

My MF8180C Printer/Scanner has an error I can't fix

Remove the entire catridge, close it and turn it on. It will complain of no catridge. Turn it off, insert the catridge and turn on. This should work.
Also, make sure your paper is not cold, you can heat paper up before using in future.
