Samsung rb2055sl running warm 55 degrees in refrigerator and 70 degrees in freezer fan is working no ice, way to warm

Is there a clicking noise? Feel the compressor to see if too hot to keep your hand on top. Look ate the frost pattern in rear of the freezer compartment and tell me the results. Several things could be causing the compressor to get hot and not run. Freon leak is one thing that could happen and defective start relay, overload and run capacitor is another. You could also have a defective cooling fan under fridge or inside the freezer compartment

Cooling - not

Have a heating/air conditioning person check the freon level to see if it needs to be refilled. Most modern day things that cool use freon gas to cool. It could be that it needs to be flushed and refilled, or perhaps you have a leak somewhere and all the freon is leaking out or has leaked out. Trust me one of my uncle's is a heating and cooling technician at a company called WinAir and he has fixed our home cooling systems many times. Those guys have tools, freon, and the right chemicals to see if you have a leak and need more freon.

My refrigerator does not cool enought and leaks at the back because the pipes next to the compressor are frozen

You must have a freon leak somewhere. Because from the indications you gave it sounds like you are low on freon.

I replaced the compressor on my refrigerator. There were no tags as to how much freon the system takes. So I added enough to bring the low side to 72 psi w/ a cabinet temp of 70 degrees. The high side...

**** boy. 72 psi on the low side? It ain't an air conditioner. The low side should be never over 5 PSI. The whole system holds only arounf 4 ounces. What were ya thankin? LOL WOW you will be lucky if the reed valves ain't blown in the new compressor. Go ahead and evacuate the system. Pull that ****** down to as close to negative 30 as you can and then shut her down. Just crack open the freon a hair and let it SLOWL:Y build to no more than 5PSI on the low side.

I put a hole in the freezer compartment, did I really just ruin the fridge? What would it cost to repair? and where do I get the parts?

You would need to clean the area around the puncture real well and get some epoxy putty to repair the hole. Allow for the area to dry and harden at least 24 hours.
Then you would need to evacuate the system to make sure no moisture is in the sealed sytem or ice will form in the lines and block the flow of freon. The system will only hold about 1/3rd of a 12 ounce can of R134a which anyone can buy a a automotive arts store. You would need to find a way to tap into the system to charge and vacuum it. The old folks used to purge a system instead of vacuuming it. The newer freon is environmentally safe so no special card is needed to purchase it. However it is still dangerous. You must not breathe the stuff or connect it to the high side of the compressor. The discharge side willl always be the high side and it will always go to the cooling condenser and is small steel line. An ear coming out the compressor is an ideal spot to connect a saddle valve to tap into the system. Before attaching a saddle valve you will fair better if you sand the copper down to prevent leaks. A saddle valve can be purchased at any appliance parts store. Ask for an A-1 line tap. To do the job right you need guages. The low side pressure should not exceed 5 PSI. Thats all the smart pills I have. The gauges will have 3 hoses. Blue(low side)red(high side)yellow(freon). Put your blue hose on the A-1 tap, connect your freon to the yellow hose, and put the red hose on the vacuum pump. Open all the valves on the gauges and turn on the vacuum pump.(Leave the freon closed). After 30 minutes close all valves and shut down vacuum pump. If the vacuum holds, open the freon can and crack open the blue hose, let the freon go in slowly till it equalizes. Bubble test for leaks at the patch. Plug in the ice box and watch the guage drop. The needle on the blue gauge should be close to 5 PSI for a correct charge (over charging will choke down the compressor, not good). Remember the ice box only holds 4 ounces! That is one third of a 12 ounce can. Weigh it in if you want to be exact. Check for leaks. If all goes well it will be good as new.

I have a 30 year old Kenmore 17 cu in. refrigerator that recently has started to run almost continuously. It is otherwise in good shape. Room temp. is 68 deg. farenheit, 70% rel. humidity. I have an R-22...

this unit does not take r22. dont put r22 in it , thats for house acs.this unit should take r12 older freon . but id first check the condenser coils, if this unit has any, some models are internal. usually underneath unit or against back wall. if dirty coils that will make ref. run longer. if coils are clean and cooling or frzing in both sides then maybe your thermostat is not sensing the tempreture properly, maybe hard to get part becuz of age. if unit is frzing and cooling good just running too long, i dont think its low on freon,if its low on freon it wouldnt be working at all . hope this helps

I have side by side whirlpool,It quit working not

no it probably doesnt need freon. the noise your hearing is the compressor trying to start  due to either a bad start relay or a stuck compressor. on whirlpool refrigs the most common problem is bad relays this is a very easy part to replace and the part is in expensive. less than 70 dollars. the part number is 8201786 and the kit has very good instructions for doing it your self. if you have any questions please ask thanks Peyton
