I'd like to know how to operate the up/down via a keyboard shortcut. I see on the "home", "pg up" & "pg dn" buttons there are volume functions. I just do not know how to invoke them

Used ctl, alt, page up to reverse screen....cant get it back!

Using keys on the lower right of the keyboard, reverse the process. For instance, if you accidentally pressed CTRL + ALT + HOME to turn orientation upside down, press CTRL + ALT + END to turn it right-side up. Likewise, if you pressed CTRL + ALT + PG UP, press its opposite, CTRL + ALT + PG DN.

From the manual:

- or -
Press and hold down the fn key, briefly press the second key of the hotkey command, and then
release both keys at the same time.
Muting speaker sound (fn+home)
Press fn+home to mute speaker sound. Press the hotkey again to restore speaker sound.
Increasing speaker sound (fn+pg up)
Press fn+pg up to increase speaker sound. Hold down the hotkey to increase speaker sound incrementally.

How to widen my screen

    • 1 Use the zoom in and out shortcut with your mouse. Many programs such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Microsoft Word allow users to zoom in and out quickly using their mouse and keyboard. Hold down the "Control" ("Ctrl") key, and then move the mouse wheel forward to zoom in or backward to zoom out until the text fits your screen to your liking.
    • 2 Use the zoom command from your program's menus. If you don't have a mouse with a wheel or the mouse zoom shortcut does not work, try locating a "zoom" command in the "View" menu of your program. Many programs have an option to zoom in and out under the "View" menu, which will make text larger or smaller. You may have to select "Zoom in" or "Zoom out" several times before the text is the right size.
    • 3 Change your screen resolution. Altering your screen resolution can change the size of windows and text on your screen. Right click the desktop, select "Properties" (Windows XP) or "Personalize" (Windows Vista and 7), click the "Settings" tab (XP), or the "Display Settings" link (Vista) or click "Display" and then "Adjust Screen Resolution" (7). Adjust the resolution slider up or down, click "Apply" and then click "OK."

Where can I find info simple enough to describe how to scroll up and down with a laptop. I have an old desktop and switching is really hard for an old lady

Usually easiest to scroll page up or down on laptop is to use arrow keys on your keypad - arrow up or arrow down. You'll find also keys "pg up" and "pg dn" for that. "Home" takes you at once to the top of page and "end" all the way down to the bottom of page.
Hope this helps you and answers your question. Have a nice day :)

Six keyboard keys I don't know how to use

Insert: You press this key to toggle either overwrite mode or insert mode when you are typing documents. In overwrite mode, the characters will be replaced where your cursor is in the middle of a sentence and in insert mode, the characters will be added.
PRT SC: Short for print screen. You press this and the computer will take a snapshot of your computer's screen and copy it to the clipboard. Then you can open up paint or word and press CTRL-V to paste that snapshot of your screen as a picture in your document.
HOME: Takes your cursor to the very beginning of a document in a word processor.
SCROLL: Toggles the scroll function in a document.
PG UP: Moves the document you are looking at up a page.
PAUSE: Will pause a list being sent to your screen from the command window.
DELETE: Will delete whatever you have highlighted on your screen
SYS RQ: Check your notebook's information for this.
END: Will take your cursor to the end of the current line, paragraph, or document.
NUM LK: will turn on the numberlock function, allowing you to use the right side ofyour keyboard like a numberpad.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate as fixya.

Pls copy this to notepad (without any formating) to display properly.
