Question about Goodman CKL36AR36 Air Conditioner
Hello we recently changed the breaker panel in the house however the outside unit is not coming on and the air is that is coming out is not cold. What might it be ?
At the outdoor unit, open the diconnect box on or near the machine.remove the pull out switch or turn the breaker in it off.if not in the on position, that may be your problem.anyway, remove the dead face or cover to expose the high volt wires.you will se a set of wires going to the top of the fuse holder or breaker and a set wires going to the bottom of the fuse holder or breaker.one set is the wires coming from the panel and the other set of wires go to the outdoor machine.one wire should be red the other should be black.this is 240volt power.be careful.using your multimeter set to read voltage, take one probe and touch the lug on the breaker or fusebox at the top.do the same with the other on the other lug simultaniously.repeat the proceedure at the bottom of the breaker or fuse block.you should have 240volts to one of the sets of wires.if not, your breaker the the panel may be off or the wires to the machine were never tied into the new panel.in fact they may be there in the panel going to no breaker at all.
check that and get back.that is check #1.

Assuming your in a residential area, the system is single phase; therefore, phasing has no role in the problem. I would suggest that you check to see if you have voltage 220 volts at the outside unit (condensing) unit. If you have voltage, check to see if you have 24V on the contactor coming from the t-stat. If not check the local disconnect to make sure it is in good condition.

May be the phasing of the circuit breaker to the indoor unit is reverse, try to interchange the breaker connection and operate the unit.
