At the outdoor unit, open the diconnect box on or near the machine.remove the pull out switch or turn the breaker in it off.if not in the on position, that may be your problem.anyway, remove the dead face or cover to expose the high volt will se a set of wires going to the top of the fuse holder or breaker and a set wires going to the bottom of the fuse holder or set is the wires coming from the panel and the other set of wires go to the outdoor wire should be red the other should be black.this is 240volt careful.using your multimeter set to read voltage, take one probe and touch the lug on the breaker or fusebox at the the same with the other on the other lug simultaniously.repeat the proceedure at the bottom of the breaker or fuse should have 240volts to one of the sets of wires.if not, your breaker the the panel may be off or the wires to the machine were never tied into the new fact they may be there in the panel going to no breaker at all.

check that and get back.that is check #1.

Assuming your in a residential area, the system is single phase; therefore, phasing has no role in the problem. I would suggest that you check to see if you have voltage 220 volts at the outside unit (condensing) unit. If you have voltage, check to see if you have 24V on the contactor coming from the t-stat. If not check the local disconnect to make sure it is in good condition.

May be the phasing of the circuit breaker to the indoor unit is reverse, try to interchange the breaker connection and operate the unit.

Hi. I need help fixing my urka-a042jk10e Air Conditioner please. It's not blowing any air up thru the vents and my house is 97 degrees!

Possible that the compressor is not running. Call a service tech. Could be a run capacitor bad, stuck reverse valve or even a shot compressor.

How to get Goodman air conditioner to pump cold air in after changed filter?

First, remove the air filter and check the coils above or immediately adjacent to the location of the filter. They may be clogged. Use a soft brush to remove lint, hair and grime. BE CAREFUL TO NOT BEND THE DELICATE FINS ON THE COILS. If they are clean then if your AC is a forced air system (whole house) do the following.

Is the compressor running? That is the big box unit outside of the house. You may have to turn it off at its breaker (separate from the air handler where the filter is located and usually outside the house near where the meter is located.) Leave the breaker in the off position for 20-30 minutes before turning it on again. Set your thermostat to 66 degrees or there abouts before turning the breaker back on. After turning the breaker back on, if the compressor does not start up within a few minutes, then it is possible that one of the startup capacitors is defective. If you do not feel comfortable working around 230 volt electrical systems, call an AC repair shop and have them do a system check.

How do I know if compressor of my house air conditioner is turning on when I start my air conditioner? When I start my air conditioner the fan outside the house turns on, the air is blowing from the vents...

if the compressor is starting there will be a very small dimming in the house lights,if you go outside to the unit and start it from the outside disconnect when the compressor starts you will hear a whine type noise coming from the outside condenser unit that is the hermetic compressor motor operating,no cold air can be a number of issues, low on refrigerant(not likely on the new sealed systems) a bad motor start/run capacitor(quite likely) a bad contactor on the outside unit that supplies power to the compressor, one leg of the 240volts that supplies the compressor power, the fan will run on 120 volts, but the compressor needs 240 volts check the fuses.breaker in the power panel

My Carrier AC fan will not turn, only blows out warm air.

Breaker has popped either at breaker box or at the safety shut off switch. Fuses are blown or the sending unit has popped.

Fan runs but blowing hot air. Thunderstorm reset some breakers. I did reset the two breakers inside the house and one unit working fine, upstairs unit fan running but blowing warm air only. Box out

Sounds like your Capacitor is bad, or you had a wire burn off compressor terminal or capacitor. Way you can check capacitor is take cover off and see if looks swollen. Make sure to turn off power before taking panel off.

Do you have the Economy button on? If so, and you have a large space to heat or the outside temp is very cold the unit may not be able to keep up. If this is the case the stove runs forever, trying to reduce the temp by 2 degrees every 30 minutes. This may not work for your space and outside temp.

Your ideas about the intake and exhaust are not quit right. There is a fan that pulls air from outside over the outside of the exhaust pipe (to preheat it). This fan actually pushed the combustion gasses all the way out the exhaust. The exhaust exiting should be a little hot. In very cold temps, frost can build up around the air intake, which is right around the exhaust pipe. If you see this you will need to keep it clean. It is a good idea to look at the exhaust everyday when it really cold.

Good luck,

Fan not turning outside

Is the outside compressor running? Check the fuses in the outside disconnect by the outside condensing unit. Also check the breaker for the A/C in the main power panel.
