Hello David, the "pop" hopefully was the main inline power supply fuse. If you were jumping starting with a car battery, it could be more serious if the fuse did not blow fast enough. Follow the positive cable off the battery. You should find an inline fuse, somewhere in the heavy gauge wire. Usually 25-30amp. If you have a 12vdc test light, it will help to locate. I hope this information is helpful.
Sorry Russell, i posted your name wrong.
its coo bro i realy really appreciate it and i was jumping it with an emergency kit thing its a copressor light charger and jumper all in one and i was crankin it right when it was tryin to fire up is when it popped ur information has been more than helpful thank you so much
i hope so cuz there was a good bit of smoke i ust chexked it followed it to a relay of some sort then it goes down and under the front sprocket casing i assume its goin to the starter if theres a fuse i guess its gunna be in there
Smoke is not good, something got very hot. Some wires may have melted together and created a direct short. The jumper pack you used has much more amperage than the bike battery. That is why they should never be used on a motorcycle. You probably have more than one problem. Start tomorrow by checking each individual fuse. We need to find where the smoke was coming from too.
